Such a sad organization to work for
Yes, I realize Caleb Williams was once a Heisman winner and was probably going to be one of the top draft choices, but Jayden Daniels had a better season coming into the draft and has carried that into being a superstar as a rookie with carrying Washington to the NFC championship game. It’s no surprise the Bears picked the wrong QB.

Probably the 4th best QB in the league right now. Amazing talent and poise. And just a rookie.

As a Bear fan it not the QB it’s the organization and its philosophy. And ARE is from the suburbs of Chicago.

But as a bears fan who would rather have right now. Williams or Daniels?
I stick with my man, Caleb cause any QB was going to fail until the executive realized they need to move the franchise into the 2020s. In the 70s, the Bears lost a coin flip for Bradshaw. Even if we won the flip, Bradshaw would have been mediocre.

ARE was all state in fb, bb and baseball…..most exciting IU player I ever saw but my 93 yr mom was on campus when Talifero played and she stands by him as the best and after seeing the B10 doc on him, I’d ago sight unseen

Yes, but the Colts organization has sucked, EXCEPT when they had a great QB. Manning had them on top and Luck was on his way, until his unexpected retirement. A great QB can change everything in the NFL.

They had a HOF GM to go with their HOF QB. Their hasn't been an adult in charge of the front office since Polian "retired".

ARE played on the legendary Thornton teams in basketball including the one that took down Farragut with Ronnie Fields and Kevin Garnett.

I think ARE played with Sergio McClain in high school. Back in the day, I had a VHS recording of them playing against Frank Williams in high school.

Actually Frankie Williams and Sergio McClain played for Peoria Manual along with another big, last name Griffin, that RMK wanted along with McClain in the class of ‘97. In Illinois ‘95 Championship game, Manual took down Thornton with ARE, Tai Streets (UM football), Melvin Ely (Fresno St with Tark), Napoleon Harris (Northwestern Football and basketball, first round pick of the Raiders) and Erik Herring (BG hoops) after beating Farragut with Ronnie Fields and KG on Friday afternoon.

Sergio, coached by his dad at Manual, was all set to sign with IU in November of ‘96. His teammate, Griffin didn’t want to play for Coach knight, so they signed with new Illini coach, Lon Kruger. Griffin ended up having to go to JUCO first.

Peoria was an absolute hot bed of hoops at the time. AJ Guyton at Peoria Central. Mark Vershaw, another guy RMK wanted, ended up at Wisconsin. Can’t recall which HS.

ARE went to Thornton. Quinn Buckner won back to back titles in ‘71 and ‘72 and Thornridge.

Nicely done, my brother.

ARE in the NFL - not bad for a converted, undersized QB
1) 22 for 27 passes, 323 yards, 6 TDs
2) 5 punt returns for TDs
3) 1 KO return for a TD
4) 79 rushes for 438 yards (5.5 ave)
5) 370 pass receptions, 4,467 yards, 12.1 ave yards per catch, 15 TDs
6) Played in 2 Super Bowls, won one

Luck retired after multiple injuries (lacerated kidney was the last straw if I remember right) because they never got him an O-line. As soon as he got the ball snapped, he just started running because he knew someone was coming from somewhere.

Awesome resume. It was like he was playing in the school yard only he was doing it in the Big Ten and NFL.
