Probably a nice pay bump for ARE, too. Hope to see him as an OC next. Best ever IU football player.
Maybe. But Anthony Thompson wasn’t too shabby.
AT was amazing and would be #2 on my all time list. I was fortunate to see all ARE and AT home games in person.
If ARE had played in this current era he would have been a high draft pick as a QB. He was forced to move to WR in the NFL due to his size. You see guys like Kyler Murray and Bryce Young in the NFL now who are under 6 feet who were #1 draft picks.
Hard to believe ARE woulda been my next door neighbor if I went to IU a semester earlier.
AT lived down the hall from me in 87-88. The parade of hotness was something to behold. His roommate, Markell Granderson (RIP), was a laugh riot and would occasionally wait out an unplanned visit with us.

Maybe. But it seems like a lateral move from a good team to a bad team. Ben Johnson must've promised him something to get him.

Yes, I realize Caleb Williams was once a Heisman winner and was probably going to be one of the top draft choices, but Jayden Daniels had a better season coming into the draft and has carried that into being a superstar as a rookie with carrying Washington to the NFC championship game. It’s no surprise the Bears picked the wrong QB.
Probably the 4th best QB in the league right now. Amazing talent and poise. And just a rookie.
As a Bear fan it not the QB it’s the organization and its philosophy. And ARE is from the suburbs of Chicago.
I stick with my man, Caleb cause any QB was going to fail until the executive realized they need to move the franchise into the 2020s. In the 70s, the Bears lost a coin flip for Bradshaw. Even if we won the flip, Bradshaw would have been mediocre.
ARE was all state in fb, bb and baseball…..most exciting IU player I ever saw but my 93 yr mom was on campus when Talifero played and she stands by him as the best and after seeing the B10 doc on him, I’d ago sight unseen
