This kid seems to be tearing it up for Bloomington South.....recently had 38 v. Southport....offers from Xavier & Stanford, and Butler looking at him. No offer yet from IU, apparently.

On video, he looks pretty long & athletic, and appears to have a good handle and shot.

I can't find any stats for him for this year, but he seems to be averaging in the mid-20s.....anybody got his stats, shooting %s etc.....? Also, if you've seen him, would you like to seem him offered for '20, and why or why not?

Archie needs to keep evaluating him and see how he progresses this summer on the AAU circuit. I’m pretty sure if he had an IU offer that he’d commit. No need to spray offers out ala Crean. He’s a top 100, hometown kid. If he’s good enough then he’ll get an offer and he’ll commit. I know that the staff is recruiting him.

Speaking of...

Arch currently has 11 outstanding offers. 4 left in 19, 7 in 20.

Crean currently has 29 - which is low for him. I've seen as many as 60.

The staff apparently doesn't think he's good enough for an IU offer right now but he's being closely watched. A lot may hinder on how we do with Morton or that kid from Missouri.

I’m ok with him and like having 2 or 3 white kids on the team as they add intelligence and other things like that that’s important in crunch time but how many 6’3 combo guards do we need?

Whatttttttt??????

Not to mention Lebron James has one of the highest basketball IQs of all time and is one if the smartest players in the league. What an ignorant statement.

Magic and Jordan had a very high basketball IQ. Not sure I'd say that about LeBron. He's physically probably the greatest to ever play. If he had MJs IQ he'd be the GOAT easily. He's probably just average in that department. Not to mention if you watch him in an interview you'd probably guess that he has a 7th grade education.

Given that Anthony Leal is a big IU fan, Archie knows he can wait to watch him develop.

Here is a picture of a young Anthony Leal (middle) with Vic and Jordan.

Anthony visits IU's campus often, watching practices, etc.

That said, Anthony just picked up an offer from Butler.

Especially for a white guard to be able to play at a high level in the upper D1 he must possess a high level of skill and have a high basketball IQ to play with the black athlete. This is just true. I know it’s not politically correct, but it’s the truth. We all know that as a whole blacks are more athletic. It is what it is.
Skill level by ethnicity is just silly. If a person wants a higher IQ in math, more practice is required. There is no assigned ethnicity to greater math calculation. I do believe holistically our African American population has a greater interest in athletics, causing a perceived disparity, due to additional years of practice time.

Leal is a big kid with a nice jumpshot. He is the kind of guy we are missing. Hes a decent athlete too. Reminds me of Mcquaid at MSU. We need to put him in the bag. Soon.

Lebron is well known as having a very high basketball IQ. I get that you don't care for him - maybe it's his politics or whatever - but he is an extremely intelligent basketball player and person as any of his peers will tell you. Your hatred for him aside, Lebron has forgotten more about basketball than any of us combined will ever know and almost everyone in the NBA agrees with that statement.

And here I thought that Al Campanis had passed away decades ago!

Please give us a full report on what you think after you've seen him. I've been impressed by what I've seen on you tube and by what I've read about him. On his videos he appears to be a pretty long & athletic kid with a good shot and pretty decent ball handling....mostly in fast-break situations. Obviously viewing highlights on you tube doesn't take the place of personal observation, so I'd be interested in your observations.

One more request, if you don't mind......if you remember, could you try to find out his scoring/rebounding/assist #s and his shooting %s on 2s, 3s, and from the foul line?? I can't find that on the internet for him.......Thanks.

Furst is a top 20 player nationally. As a sophomore Furst is advanced skill-wise for a big man his age. This is an in-state Indiana player that Archie is recruiting hard.

We've got what...2 spots for 2020 (Davonte and Davis).

Remember when people dreamed of pushing someone out and taking four this year? If that wanted transfer is one of Green or Davis we'll only have one spot.

2021 is a monster class.

We are building our national profile.

Leal is a nice player and seems to be a great, high character kid. Exactly the kind of kid we want in our program...but there are only two spots at most.

It seems that they really want a point guard for Green's spot so....Leal is now competing for one scholly. Do you give it to him during his junior year or do you go after a high upside national kid?

The way Archie operates it wouldn’t surprise me if we hold on to a scholarship for 2021. 2020 class isn’t impressive state wise.

If you actually read what I put instead of what you want to read you wouldn’t think so. For he white guard to play at a high level in D1 ball he has to be very skilled and have a basketball IQ that’s higher than most of those he’s playing with. This isn’t knocking black peoples intelligence. If you haven’t noticed there isn’t many white guards out there.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Another stupendously ignorant post. LeBron is a tremendously bright person, who shows it on the court as well as off it. Just a truly dumb post.

Hey dummie, any player white, black, orange or pink, has to be highly skilled to play D1 ball. Race has zero to do with it.

Have you heard some of the comments he's made recently? Obviously not. He's as bright as a brick.

What the hell is wrong with you? Archie will recruit who he thinks he has the best chance to win. There's a slew of white players dumb as shit.
