Announcers stated several times Woodson thought we needed to go 5-2 down the stretch

Ok MSU is not very good I expect quite a few more losses. Indiana is so up and down I could see them losing to UCLA by 20 at home. I will say playing zone is way better then the nail slot defense.
They’ve literally lost six games all year and now they’re “not very good” because we beat them and you don’t want to say anything meaningfully positive ?

just don't see why rated so high as not very good shooting team. MR looked unstoppable down the stretch. Our bigs and the zone were the key.

I think our zone, and the methodical and surprisingly effective post ISOs, completely took them out of what makes them really good in most games. How many transition opportunities did they have? I only watched the 2nd half, and I can't really remember any.

MSU is very good. IU is just capable of beating very good teams built how MSU is built. The next team we play that spreads it out, and shoots threes well...we'll see how we look against them.

we'll just need to mix it up between man and zone and use it to try and throw teams off, and play 1 big. Just shows how hard-headed Woodson is. With Reanu coming back from injury and the team having played better with one big, it was so logical and plain to see that you continue with 1 big and work Reneau back in coming off the bench to spell Ballo. Nope, right back to 2 bigs.

Win the next two, and we'll be right back on the bubble...with some winnable games remaining. Now that the Woodson decision has been made, I really want them to make the NCAA tournament.

Isn't MSU ranked dead last in the NCAA in 3pt shooting %? As Indiana fans, we know what that equates to. Its sad that we had this knowledge, knew that our zone stifled Michigan this past weekend and yet we still didn't utilize zone until the 2nd half. But thats on the coach.

typical start they were running it down our throats, most surprising thing Izzo never doubled down on the bigs, especially Reneau he's prone to bad decisions.

Wondered about that too. Its not like we usually have guys that knock down the kickouts either. But I do think Leal, Mack, and Goode, is a pretty good outside shooting threat to surround Malik or Oumar with. Evidently Izzo did too.

MSU bigs are awful. How many times did they let Reneau catch it deep and go left. Crazy
They largely played him straight up. To Malik's credit though, he did make a couple drop step moves back to his right when they overplayed his normal action.

I was actually really impressed by that zone last night and hate zone defense. Sure MSU is not the greatest 3pt shooting team but they are ranked #11 and it shut them down fairly effectively.

The conference standings are entire based on wins and losses. National rankings are still mostly that, with some subjectivity about who you beat and how you played against who you played.

They have lost three of the last four and they have games coming up with Purdue and at Michigan(twice) and at Maryland. They have to play Wisconsin and Illinois also still . They are ok but I am guessing by the end of the season they will not be ranked or will be ranked much lower . I remember being told how great our win at Penn State was and now Penn State is in last place. Nobody in the big ten will likely get far in the NCAA. The conference just isn't that good.

Early in the season some announcer predicted that the eventual B1G champion would have at least four losses. I thought that was unlikely but it seems much more of a possibility now.

Their schedule is heavily backloaded. I see a string of losses coming up for MSU.
On the road at Illinois. Purdue at home. On the road at Michigan. Wisconsin at home. Maryland on the road. Iowa on the road. Michigan at home.

Correct their record is very deceiving just like when woodsn ws 4-1 vs the bad big team team. I could easily see Michigan State losing like 5 more games.

The conference is not very good. I don't see any team getting past the sweet sixteen if even that. Michigan is decent but certainly not elite and they have the best record.

They beat Ohio State, Washington, Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota twice, Penn State, Rutgers, and Illinois which is a good win so 8 out of 9 cupcakes. They are also the worst three point team in the big ten.

So there 19-5 10-3 I can see them losing there next 7.. @ Illinois, Purdue, @ Michigan, @ Maryland, Wisconsin, @ Iowa, Michigan.

They are probably going to finish with at least 7 losses in conference and probably even more. I watched them early in the year and did not think they were that good. I can now see why they won 10 games as the competition was not good. like IU beating the great Penn State team who is now 3-11.

This unretire notion makes me realize Dolson might actually be a wizard. If he wanted Woody gone as badly as I think he did, and if he thought there was any chance in the world we could finish the season on a mini heater, his timing was impeccable. Well done Scott!! 👏👏👏
