Purdue, @ Oregon are the top candidates.wonder what 2 he thought we would lose? haven't heard anything like that since Mike Davis
They’ve literally lost six games all year and now they’re “not very good” because we beat them and you don’t want to say anything meaningfully positive ?Ok MSU is not very good I expect quite a few more losses. Indiana is so up and down I could see them losing to UCLA by 20 at home. I will say playing zone is way better then the nail slot defense.
just don't see why rated so high as not very good shooting team. MR looked unstoppable down the stretch. Our bigs and the zone were the key. They’ve literally lost six games all year and now they’re “not very good” because we beat them and you don’t want to say anything meaningfully positive ?
I think our zone, and the methodical and surprisingly effective post ISOs, completely took them out of what makes them really good in most games. How many transition opportunities did they have? I only watched the 2nd half, and I can't really remember any.just don't see why rated so high as not very good shooting team. MR looked unstoppable down the stretch. we'll just need to mix it up between man and zone and use it to try and throw teams off, and play 1 big. Just shows how hard-headed Woodson is. With Reanu coming back from injury and the team having played better with one big, it was so logical and plain to see that you continue with 1 big and work Reneau back in coming off the bench to spell Ballo. Nope, right back to 2 bigs.I think our zone, and the methodical and surprisingly effective post ISOs, completely took them out of what makes them really good in most games. MSU is very good. IU is just capable of beating very good teams built how MSU is built. The next team we play that spreads it out, and shoots threes well...we'll see how we look against them.
Win the next two, and we'll be right back on the bubble...with some winnable games remaining. Now that the Woodson decision has been made, I really want them to make the NCAA tournament.we'll just need to mix it up between man and zone and use it to try and throw teams off, and play 1 big. Isn't MSU ranked dead last in the NCAA in 3pt shooting %? As Indiana fans, we know what that equates to. Its sad that we had this knowledge, knew that our zone stifled Michigan this past weekend and yet we still didn't utilize zone until the 2nd half. But thats on the coach. They’ve literally lost six games all year and now they’re “not very good” because we beat them and you don’t want to say anything meaningfully positive ?
typical start they were running it down our throats, most surprising thing Izzo never doubled down on the bigs, especially Reneau he's prone to bad decisions.I think our zone, and the methodical and surprisingly effective post ISOs, completely took them out of what makes them really good in most games. Wondered about that too. Its not like we usually have guys that knock down the kickouts either. But I do think Leal, Mack, and Goode, is a pretty good outside shooting threat to surround Malik or Oumar with. Evidently Izzo did too.typical start they were running it down our throats, most surprising thing Izzo never doubled down on the bigs, especially Reneau he's prone to bad decisions.
I am worried about the decision somehow being UNMADE by even a glimmer of success... Now that the Woodson decision has been made, I really want them to make the NCAA tournament.
I guess maybe...but it seems like that option is now off the table. And a big part of me thinks Dolson wanted to eliminate that possibility from happening, and used the losing streak to formally end it as an option.I am worried about the decision somehow being UNMADE by even a glimmer of success
They largely played him straight up. To Malik's credit though, he did make a couple drop step moves back to his right when they overplayed his normal action.MSU bigs are awful. How many times did they let Reneau catch it deep and go left. Crazy
Mike said in the postgame he was done end of year. No reversal is coming.I am worried about the decision somehow being UNMADE by even a glimmer of success
Fidler would have scored 40 if Izzo would have had him flashing to the middle before the last couple of possessions. That zone had a lot of holes it it that any good shooting team would exploit. It was great vs. MSU but many other squads we will be facing would tear it to shreds.
The conference standings are entire based on wins and losses. National rankings are still mostly that, with some subjectivity about who you beat and how you played against who you played.just don't see why rated so high as not very good shooting team. MR looked unstoppable down the stretch. Our bigs and the zone were the key.
They have lost three of the last four and they have games coming up with Purdue and at Michigan(twice) and at Maryland. They have to play Wisconsin and Illinois also still . They are ok but I am guessing by the end of the season they will not be ranked or will be ranked much lower . I remember being told how great our win at Penn State was and now Penn State is in last place. Nobody in the big ten will likely get far in the NCAA. The conference just isn't that good. They’ve literally lost six games all year and now they’re “not very good” because we beat them and you don’t want to say anything meaningfully positive ?
