Let me get this straight, exactly how do you help the Black Community?
This guy is the richest black guy in America? I mean he was good, but not that good:a few observations. I agree with you in principle. That said these are the same issues that were broached when i was in grad school 25 years ago. and probably the same as during the civil rights enactments. i'm growing more jaded with every decade as it seems to be rinse repeat. at this point i'm of the opinion that it's culture, enabling behavior, lack of personal responsibility, and ineptitude of those charged with making things better. pick a black community and it's leaders more often than not will be dumber than shit. cori bush. a derelict finger-pointing progressive mayor. social workers without an ounce of sense. how much money has been thrown at urban public schools with shitty results. how much money in welfare. to what end.
and what is hte culture. if there's an issue oprah is at the forefront. lebron is celebrated. my buddy and old office landlord was the personal attorney to david steward. back when david was getting cars repoed and my buddy stopped bothering to even send him invoices. he was a dog tho. partnered up with a soccer legend and used his race to procure gov contracts. get loans. there's great benefit to being black if you know how to work the system. why don't we celebrate that and teach that. why is it always defund police, bail projects, race-baiting from the squad. i know they're stupid but do they lack all sense of awareness. david is a republican. the richest black man in america is a republican. a republican who serves on all the boards that try to help but damn that speaks volumes. go to any black community school in america and i bet you 100 out of 100 kids don't know him. never heard of him. and he's nothing short of amazing

So here's the dealio. What I meant by saying dismissing the wokesters is just as bad as blindly following them is this: the problem of black crime is a complicated one, and as you already said, if we're going to talk about it, it should be with the goal of doing something about it in mind. The woke left who wants to boil everything down to "this is all the result of something America did to black people" doesn't help. But neither does "it all comes down to personal responsibility." We need to address all sorts of things. For example, blacks tend to be both urban and poor at a higher rate than other folks. Well, urban and poor both correlate with crime. Blacks also have a higher incidence of one-parent homes, for various reasons. That also correlates with crime. And we have to attack all these things from multiple angles. Take the lack of black father figures. It's not wrong to say that black culture needs to change to put a stronger emphasis on family responsibility, especially among young men. But it's also not wrong to point out that it doesn't help to incarcerate so many black dads. Hard to not be an absent father when you are in prison.
That poster is not Eli.Lol. Did your account get hacked by a moderate bot?
'we' don't need to address anything. Black culture needs to fix their own rot. Isn't going to happen from any 'we' here. That's such a ridiculous white liberal college position statement it's kind of embarrassing
Whatever you say, Eli.That poster is not Eli.
They were created to combat violence on the nyc subway. Koch initially opposed them. Rudy supported them. Rudy was also instrumental in cleaning up nyc through a broad coalition of groups from neighborhood groups to nonprofits to businesses
