I don't know how many times I've heard on here that the GOP is dying yet according to the linked article we are pretty evenly divided. I think a lot of that is due to the arrogance and stupidity of each party. One side gets elected and thinks they have a mandate to do anything they want when, in fact, a lot of times people just voted against the other side. I think there is a great chasm between the left and right. I used to look at the other side and thought they weren't too far from my position but that is just not true any more.

If the GOP would stop raiding the local homeless shelter for candidates, they would be doing quite well. People hate Biden.

it's not "arrogance and stupidity", it's ownership.

we have one party, the Wall St Party, with two divisions.

Dems held the senate for almost 60 yrs straight till 95 by representing the working class while Pubs represented the rich and corps.

then during the Clinton regime, Dems sold out to Wall St too.

if you can't beat them, buy them.

either party could rule both houses just by going back to representing the working class first.

they'd both rather have the money.

if you allow govt to be bought, 100% chance it will be.

for the most part, voters now only have a choice between the socially liberal and the socially conservative branches of the money controlled Wall St Party.

and said Wall St Party and their media, which is all corporate media, makes sure to keep both branches at each others throats all day every day over social issues, and off who now owns both branches on everything financial.

Interesting poll showing independents outnumber Pubs and Dems with more "Indies" leaning toward the Pubs thus giving them the edge.

In general the mood of the nation is described as "dissatisfaction with the state of the nation”. IMO this translates into being dissatosfied with the federal government. This then coincides with the GOP anti-big government message.

So in the final analysis the Pub message these days fits the mood of the nation with enough people to give them a slight edge.

I didn't read it, but did he include "sock puppets," "monied interests," or something about the condos in Florida being brought down by explosives and wondering why there are no dogs there to sniff for those explosives? ;)

All of which, are reasonable questions to have.... If poised in a readable way. Just sayin.

The theme often heard at the Cooler that the Republicans are dying includes conservatives who warn us the left has successfully been taking us down a socialist path. To prove their point they bring up AOC and Bernie Sanders as if they were the future if Dems were continue to be elected.

They are like a football coach at half time who complains as if his team was behind when in fact they have a fourteen point lead.
