Fine with Beard... Hell, I wanted him 4 years ago but didn't think Whitten would sign off.Beard, now let's kick Purdue's ass
If true we will soon be hanging banners again.Beard, now let's kick Purdue's ass
Same here. Fingers will remain crossed until announcement.Fine with Beard... Hell, I wanted him 4 years ago but didn't think Whitten would sign off.
I'm not a Beard detractor, I think he is a good coach. I'm just not sure he is elite, so my enthusiasm is tempered. He did go to the Championship game. He did go to an elite 8. He has made a place like Ole Miss good. But only twice has he not had double digit losses in a full season. Is he capable of those 3, 4, 5 loss seasons that make for #1/2 seeds? We shall see. I like that his teams over achieve consistently. Hopefully the answer is yes, and hopefully it IS at Indiana.I'd given up on it, but the more his detractors here posted, the more it was obvious they were spouting based on their personal beliefs, not what was really out there. But, not considering him seemed very IU, so I thought we'd moved on. I am convinced Dolson would have done his homework and then some, with Beard, and if that's where he landed I think your concerns about having to fire him are not much more likely than any other candidate. I'm confident I have more first-hand experience with the wrong end of an abusive drunk than most on here, so it's not something I'm going to forgive if that's what someone is. If it's Beard, I'll be very excited, but I'm still not convinced. And, I don't see anyway a March announcement would be possible or make sense unless it just gets out and Ole Miss cuts him loose, ala Bill Frieder.

We need to be past the days of RMK and old guard IU people having that much influence on the decisions our program is making.
If they helped with a Beard hire I will thank them.We need to be past the days of RMK and old guard IU people having that much influence on the decisions our program is making.

rmk loved beard as a coach, this isn't an old guard hire, just powers that be, know what he thoughtWe need to be past the days of RMK and old guard IU people having that much influence on the decisions our program is making.
He loved Archie too. Beard isn’t Archie, but it was RMK people that saddled us with Woodson.rmk loved beard as a coach, this isn't an old guard hire, just powers that be, know what he thought
But, I'm not sure how much RMK knew Archie. I felt it was more that he knew of him. Maybe he knew him well, but he knew Beard intimately. Also what I loved about what Pitino had to say, that he went down there when he wasn't coaching and was in a couple of his practices and was impressed. Beard has a ton more personality and charisma than Archie. I don't think he'll be nearly as moody and glowering as Archie. I'm sure he'll get somewhat testy after losses, but overall I think the press likes him.He loved Archie too. Beard isn’t Archie, but it was RMK people that saddled us with Woodson.
Neither will IU.not with UNC hint, they would never hire him.
I thought archie was a good hire, the covid year he would have made the tournament, who knows how that might have changed the trajectory of his tenure. today is a shining example of what iu basketball should be, beard gets thatHe loved Archie too. all speculation at this point, but I think he would have done well,I can’t with Cronin. In his tiny little suit, he looks absurd on the sideline. I’m sure if he won big at IU, that would become endearing. But I can’t hardly watch him at this point.
I agree on RMK/Beard. What I'm not sure of is where you are getting your info and with what level of confidence it is.rmk loved beard as a coach, this isn't an old guard hire, just powers that be, know what he thought
DumbMick Cronin is 17-3 when leading at half this season. And he wears adorable suits he picks up in the Kohl’s boys section.
Your nipples need cooling, girl, and I’m the one to bring it.Dumb

really, I might be your only friend on hereSo can you!
I know, I am starting to believe that.really, I might be your only friend on here
You may not like the hire like the majority of us would, and that’s fine, but you would like the winning. While I wouldn’t clutch my pearls over a Beard hire. I REALLY hope that’s not how it goes down…or went down…sorry. I’m sure it’s already done as you said.
damn good will be good enoughBeard’s a damn good coach. Otzelberger and McCasland are even better.
Ole Miss has four games left, then the SEC Tourney then is projected as a 6 seed in the NCAA tourney which begins March 18-19.I'd given up on it, but the more his detractors here posted, the more it was obvious they were spouting based on their personal beliefs, not what was really out there. No disrespect to Kurt, we all love you man, but no one's taking this seriously. Right? My take: Dolson had a donor who knows Kurt buy him a few drinks and conspiratorially whisper a line of BS to him in order to throw the paparazzi (and the boards) off the scent...
They knew Kurt could be counted on to spill whatever was spoken of confidentially... 😉 🏀

I truly believe if you weren't stupid, we would get alongI know, I am starting to believe that.
No they aren’t. You obviously haven’t done a deep dive on Beard’s head coaching career.Beard’s a damn good coach. Otzelberger and McCasland are even better.

The difference is that Woodson was an NBA coach and not a very good one. Beard is a college coach and a good one.He loved Archie too. Beard isn’t Archie, but it was RMK people that saddled us with Woodson.
