After all the years I am getting emotional.

I think this thread is great. When we were up 10 in the fourth, and had that 60 yard punt return, I started bawling in the stands as I realized we were going to win (luckily, I had sunglasses).

I thought about walking to my car and being heckled after losses at UConn, Bowling Green, and North Texas. I thought about losing to Ball State three times in a row. I thought about the weddings and funerals missed, countless dollars spent, and lost time with friends and loved ones. I gave it all up, with zero guarantees that this would ever happen. To have it happen in my lifetime is such a gift.

My sister was (drunk and) resentful for me at all the new fans in the stadium. She reminisced about when there were hundreds of us left in the stadium watching the Hoosiers score a ton of points to just nearly do it. I don't feel that at all. I'm just so grateful. For this coach, this program, and for all of you here that have been holding the line for so long. If a new generation of fans gets bitten by the Cig bug, the way I did by the Antwaan bug, we can hopefully pack this place in the years to come.

I still remember waking up on Sunday mornings to watch the Lee Corso show on channel 4. One of the funniest things ever was him drawing up a Mike Harkrader run in which he ran a mile zigging and zagging and Corso saying it was just as they drew it up. Another one was him explaining why you can not run option in the NFL and as he was diagramming the play he put a huge E up for the defensivew end aand saying that he would crush the quarterback.

Saturday I saw a guy selling buttons outside the south entrance, that brought back some childhood memories.
I remember a stand in the west concourse that sold buttons of different teams, anyone else remember that?
I distinctly remember an Iowa button,I assume we were playing Iowa that day.
This would have been late 60’s when my Dad started taking me to games, what wonderful memories.
Miss you Dad,hope you are enjoying the season.

My dad passed in 2012. He was a PHD student in the Education Dept in 67. That is the year me and MTOTF got hooked. We have had tickets for every year starting in 67. My kids are thrilled.
Great story,my Dad also passed in 2012 and I started going to games in ‘67.
The bucket game that year was one of my best childhood memories.
We went down on the field after the game and got a piece of the turf.
My Dad knew some people and got us into the locker room after the game,I was in Heaven.

The only time I was ever heckled was by some Kentucky jerk. I was also at. UConn and North Texas and did not have problems. But I was never at Ohio State.

So you lived in Bloomington, my father-in-law was a professors in the English Department before 1950. This world keep getting smaller.
We lived in Rockport and our farther had to spend a year on campus. every Friday we would drive north, and our parents would turn us loose in the Knot Hole Gang. I was 11 and MTOTF was 9.

I certainly enjoyed meeting you and your brother at our tailgates. Don't get back as much as we used to. I guess 48 years of my a$$ in that stadium was enough. Still follow the boys and travel to Louisville to meet up with the Irregulars several times every fall. You can bet your sweet a$$ we are going to be in the stadium to beat Purdue this year.

It’s going to be a sad day when we lose Lee Corso, what a life he has led.
Not sure how anyone could say a bad word about him,a true national treasure.
But he was a lousy head coach. I was there for most of his years. 41-68-2 over those 9 years. .37614679 ain't gonna get it, not when expectations have been raised.
