A hail Mary with over three seconds left was Woody's best play?

Shouldn't we ensure that we get the ball into an IU player's hands to give him a chance to do something good? Three seconds is plenty of time to get a good look. Woody is the worst.
Yes, yes to all of this.

But they played hard. TIC

Dudes are making six, seven figures and guys on here are impressed that they played hard. It's minor league basketball now.

The play call was fine. Execution was awful. Trey over threw it. Malik over ran it. He was supposed to catch it and kick to the wing. Could have worked if they had executed the pass.
They needed to run a play that ensured that perfect execution wasn't required to get the ball into the hands of an IU player. A full-court pass was just dumb.

These shouldn’t be tough plays to execute, at least to make a catchable pass there. They obviously don’t work on these things in practice.

Good effort. Can’t wait to have a coach that has his guys ready for end game situations.

I suspect they don’t have a reliable play call in that situation. Because they’ve not worked on anything.

Your first responsibility as a coach is to run a play that ensures your team can take possession of the ball and then trust your Jimmies and Joes to make a play. It was bad strategy. Trey should not have had the option to throw a Hail Mary. Coach your ****ing team.

No No chance Should not have even come down to this. The play before lost the game. In the wrong guys hand. Stunk it up when he played earlier in the game. Three guys had hot hands and they dont get the ball? Rice is Mr clutch? Woody and the whole team should be gone when season ends.

And turnovers. 26 points off turnovers.
Didn’t watch the game… and can’t watch the games anymore…that right there is the biggest kick in the ass. I hate admitting I can’t watch the games because I’ve lived through all the great basketball years at IU… was a junior there in ‘87 for the Championship. Got to have both the coach and players want to be the BEST!! Have pride in what they do.

You are correct, Galloway had been getting open. This staff screwed up an outstanding effort by the players.

Malik was terrible tonight. 5 fouls, 3 turnovers and a 3 point attempt which was basically a turnover. Goode should have played in his place.
Malik has been terrible his last three games. I’m am so done with that guy, tired of seeing his mug, seeing his floppy corn-rolls, complaining of every way-too-many fouls. What is it? Is he so slow afoot that he has to reach out his arms in desperation to defend? Is there a hint of clumsiness to his coordination? He’s been a major disappointment. Maybe his nose is out of joint after watching our more productive one big man team from the bench. Woody should only use him to spell Ballo relief. He doesn’t deserve to keep starting.

I have a great full court inbounds play for under 5 seconds. My 12U team could run it really well. Call me Mike.

I agree. If IU tried to dribble length of court they would have fouled up three.

I would love to know if Woodson practices last second plays like that.

Our $5 million dollar roster will finish with 13 or 14 losses.
Why do we not recruit guys that WANT to play at IU. When we pay guys to play that is exactly what we get. Guys collect a check and could care less how hard they play. Ballo was supposed to be the huge get at center and these guards were supposed to take care of our guard play and really improve our shooting.

Doesn’t really matter if we have to go the full length of the court or if we have it under our own basket, this team will fvck it up.

At least we are consistent.

B1G channel showing replay this morning. Rice had the ball at midcourt with 9 seconds left and we still had 2 time outs. Down 1 pt. Call a TO and run a half court set play. Rice goes head down and drives to shoot, even Gallo and Goode giving arm gestures to Rice like Dude, wtf?
