IU is currently 5th in the B10 in 3 pt%, 35% as a team. Now, we are only 10th in the number made per game.
Defensively we are 14th, giving up threes at a 37.6% clip. For reference, Iowa leads the conference shooting a tad over 40%, while UM shoots just over 39%. Illinois is next best at 36.7, while the Buckeyes are 35.6.
Now, these stats can’t be looked at too closely in a vacuum. For example we’ve played Iowa and IL twice each (proficient at shooting the three, poor defensively), and we haven’t played Michigan yet.
Still, for all of the talk about our shooting/lack of shooting I was surprised that our offensive numbers weren’t worse.
It would be interesting to see individual stats. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see al up near 40% in conference only play.
