Indiana is now slotted in on every bracket in America. Good to see that again. From here on out this is playing with house money. They have got back to the big dance and given themselves an opportunity. That is all I wanted from this team. They are playing the best ball of the year.

IU is not a 1 seed, hell they aren't a 6 seed.... If we shot lights out, we would be between those seed lines. We are a 12, we have deficiencies. Good news is TJD is playing like an all American and just got another chip to put on his shoulder not even getting an honorable mention.

Riding with house money, push those chips in and cash out big folks.

No spread, ML only.

ALL ABOARD!

+3 for a 12 seed is great news. I totally disagree on the house money suggestion. They’re the mid major, not us. This team is capable of a run….that should be the standard. Especially with the likely step back next year. Not like we’re a young team that’ll be back.

Team has shown that they can be competitive with any team, yet it seems to me we aren’t scratching the surface of our ceiling. Certainly TJD has been brilliant, X has been outstanding and our defense stifling. Yet, if we can get Stewart going from beyond the arc, and Kopp as well, this team could hit a much higher gear.

Stewart was there earlier in the year, and Kopp has shown from his NU time that he can do the same.

this is a veteran team. Yes, we’ve become lackadaisical at times, but man if we could add some more 3 point shooting to things………

How good? Any of them able to be All Big Ten? It’s hard for me to imagine them being any better than average Big Ten starters.
100%. I’d bet any amount you would like one of them is at least 2nd team all big ten.

It would have been hard to imagine the Davis or Murray jumps last year.

Here's another fun (maybe) parlay idea for the first 2 days. I'm leaving Rutgers out of the mix and betting on an 8-0 sweep for the Big 10 (28.4 to 1) on an 8 team money line parlay. I'm betting $20 to cash $588. I'm also going to do a $40 parlay where I exclude IU, since I'll already have plenty on IU. That one will be $40 to cash $523

It's mostly just for fun and I like pulling for the Big 10 teams to sweep the first two days anyway, may as well cash for a total of $1111 if they do it.

You (or anybody else) have any upset specials that you're looking at. Chattanooga seems to be a popular one, but I kinda like the Illini to make a run this year.

Still would like to get a tourney win. A play-In game is not a legit tourney win. It’s just an opportunity to be a 12th seed.

I'm with you. If we don't beat St Mary's (it's St. Mary's for Christ's sake!) then I think our 2022 NCAA tourney was a bust with really nothing more having been accomplished than one of the last two in. That's about as low as you can go, having made the tourney. Indiana vs Wyoming? Oh, please...Indiana vs St. Mary's? Oh, please again. We need to beat UCLA in order to be able to say we had a good tournament performance of noted worth. The candy stripe warmups alone are worth five points before the game is even tipped off. "It's Indiana!"

Nah…. That’s 1980 thinking. St Mary’s is really good. They don’t give a rip about the candy stripes. But we can be the better team. Let’s roll

I’m a regular sports better. I have the exact same parlay except I have Kansas and Baylor to make it 10 teams total.

I'm sorry, but when I think of St Mary's I can't help but think of Little Sisters of the Poor.. Didn't the "Frightening Habits" of the LSotP have a couple of really good recruiting years back in the day and still couldn't win diddly-squat? If IU can't beat St Mary's, something's wrong and it's time we end our season!

I think beating Wyoming and St Marys would suffice, for me.

Expectations too low? Probably. But trying to be realistic. UCLA is probably one of the 5 most talented teams in this tournament. They have last years run for experience. And they're getting healthy at the right time. I'll be very, very, surprised and excited if we beat St Marys AND UCLA.

I don't know, this is a really good Saint Mary's team. The guards are excellent and they've improved quite a bit as the season has wore on. I think their leading scorer early in the season came off the bench for about 25 minutes a game, but now he rarely plays. They've got a big physical big, who's backup is more talented and has been coming on late in the season. They can hit 3's, but don't really shoot them a lot. They also seem to play an extremely smart brand of ball. IU is going to have to play one of it's best games to move on.

They're basically a slightly less talented Wisconsin who we should've swept. We can win today.

I hear you, but a Sweet Sixteen berth would really be taking it to the next level of satisfaction, a victory in itself for this particular era of IU basketball, that which it has become, much to our chagrin. Beat UCLA and we sleep much better during the off season. Lose to St Marys and we're left still scratching our heads in wonder why Kopp and Stewart played so many seemingly worthless minutes of futility.

I'll agree that I'll be bummed out with a loss tonight, obviously. And depending on how that would happen, that sentiment probably would extend into our offseason.

I think being where we're at already, is an important step for our program, though. And a win over St Mary's tonight would mainly "solidify" that feeling of improvement, or that our program is headed in the right direction.

And then I don't think a loss to UCLA does much of anything to change that feeling or narrative. Especially if they continue on and make a deeper run after beating us...which I think is very possible. I actually think they're the best team in our region.

We can beat them with our quickness in transition. This will be what wins this. Hit free throws. Make 5-6 3s and solid d. That’s our formula. Oh and rebound, rebound and rebound some more!

Who says it will be UCLA? They are ripe for an upset.

Yeah, maybe it will prove we didn't get such a lucky draw after all. It may be seen that IU was, in part, the lucky draw for them. They might view us as a flawed team, a one-trick pony, if you will. We have no excuse from a health issue standpoint so we've been lucky there.

I will probably end up taking the Hoosiers.
The only play for me in the 4 early games is Providence -2.5

I'm off the point spreads today, so it's all ML for me

Buffalo: I'm taking the Pigs -215 and the Friars -145... I might parlay if my guy ever calls me back

Fort Worth: I got Marquette +150 and the Aztecs -135

Indianapolis: Michigan -130

Portland: Boise St. +155 and the Hoosiers +135 (bet IU early... it's +125 now)

I'll also take all 7 on a ML parlay (small bet maybe $20) and another where I take the points with the 3 dogs and ML on the 4 faves. I'm done giving points this year:)

Good luck to everyone on their plays and brackets!! Merry Christmas and Go Big Red!!

If anybody hits any good ones, post about it and brag a little! I love good parlay success stories... even if they are pure fiction LoL
