$17mln buy-out. IU is too poor to afford it.

That's hyperbole.

If you want to take the position that Archie is an unknown as a coach, that seems fairly reasonable.

Crean is no unknown. His deficiencies with coaching, roster construction, etc. have been beat to death on this forum. And, IIRC, even by you.

If you want to suggest that Crean was a (fill in the blank) coach and when it's all said and done, Miller MAY be worse, I'm OK with that. Suggesting though that the whole story has been written and the outcome is that they aren't "even in the same category" is pure hyperbole, and probably just a hope for clicks on the forum.

Your smarter than that. And IMHO this is just another example of one of your posts that is designed to generate a reaction, and has nothing to do with what you actually think.
I disagree. Archie isn’t a new HC. He’s been one for 8 years now. If you remove his one run to the Elite 8 he’s won a grand total of one NCAA Tournament game....one.

By the time Crean was Archie’s age he had been to the Final Four and was a very successful coach in the Big East.

Archie is a classic example of a mid major coach who made one lucky run and got a job way over his head. It happens every year. He’s our version of John Groce.

Your smarter than that.
I have no idea why you'd think that. He's not smart at all. He's not smart enough to know he's not smart. He's nothing but a low intelligence anti-IU troll. He shouldn't be taken seriously. I consider him entertainment because he says so many things that are amazingly funny in an extremely stupid way.

IU is too cheap to hire a proven winning football coach they are to cheap to buyout $17 mil.

I think we can afford it the athletic department made 122,933,136 in 2018 and with the big ten revenue sharing this will increase.
I am quite sure that the figure you quote is the revenue. What were the expenses that would be offset against this so that we could get a net number?

If necessary Glass could get the money with 4 phone calls. As I have said for over a year, we will know a lot more in January.
Since you have offered this up, please tell us, specifically, who would be on the other end of those 4 calls.

Or he does what all ADs do with contracts and IU will give Archie a couple more years to succeed, like all programs would do. Lol.
If the coach is on one year contracts, players will be unlikely to sign up to play. They sign up to play for the coach and/or the university and they'd like to have the same coach the entire time they're there if possible. These guys are true boneheads.

He's not a business major and understands zip about revenue, expenses and their relationship to profit. In fact, I don't think he has a major at all - certainly not from IU.

Ufo definitively said Archie is better than Crean. And that’s not even close to correct. Could he be in the future? Sure, anything can happen. But right now he’s not even in the same ballpark.
Once again you've said something that is hilariously funny because it's so stupid. Keep it up, you keep me smiling.

Disagree.
Archie teaches defense Crean does not.
Not team wins National titles without defense.

Lol. We still have no idea what kind of coach Archie is but at this point we know plenty about the delicate nature of your emotions...
Crean's career has already peaked.
The jury is still out on Archie, but his style of play is better and more fundamental, this a better coach.

Archie won’t accomplish half of what Crean did at IU. He may never even make the 68 team tournament.

Which begs the question: why are you such a douche?

2nd question: how could you possiblly know what Archie will do in next couple years? Lol
It’s obvious that he doesn’t like IU. An actual IU fan could post something positive about IU at least some of the time. He doesn’t because he’s an anti-IU troll.

I'll bet Fred Glass has access to more than $10 billion in net worth in his Rolodex. If four phone calls is not right, I'll bet five is.

Remember UCLA balking at buying out Coach Rick Barnes at Tennessee. I would guess that their rolodexes access even more with 4-5 phone calls. :)

Wealthy donors rather would have their names on buildings.

Gotta love you crean apologists. He is a good man, but not a good coach at this level.
I've long been on record that I think that Crean actually underperformed every year at IU. So far I'd say Miller only underperformed in his second year, and that was mostly due to unprecedented key injuries. I like his recruiting and the defense minded coaching. I expect to see more this year.

Agree. Last year was a mess and it may be on him, but the level of injuries was beyond belief.

Romeo? The guy who played in every regular season game at 34 mpg?

Lol. With a broken thumb. Is this like that time you said concussions don’t alter basketball players? That was funny.
