I think we can afford it the athletic department made 122,933,136 in 2018 and with the big ten revenue sharing this will increase.
$123mln incoming is spent on urgent items. Paying the $17mln buyout strikes me as not happening. I would like to see where the incoming is budgeted. Some of it may be going to the endowment; some of it to fund academics, capital expenses, tuition relief.

He's going to get a 4th year barring a total disaster this coming one but he's likely coaching for his job in year 4.

Four seasons makes sense to me as a fair timeframe to measure progress. We will all know a lot more in January. Archie may not be the best guy but we know Crean was not.
I still believe Archie can be successful at IU. Georgia is a better spot for Crean where football is #1. IU is a better spot for Archie, and Archie can be very successful at a basketball school.

Just imagine how stupid a person would have to be to post that. He’d have to be dumbest person in any room he enters. He probably couldn’t figure out how to open the door to get in - someone would have to open it for him and point him in the right direction.

Archie had one decent year. If you take that away he’s won a grand total of ONE TOURNAMENT GAME in his entire career...ONE.
Archie is a better coach than Crean, his style of play is much improved over Crean.
Not from what we have seen in the first two years. I did not like crean but archie has not even made the tourney yet so that statement is way premature.

If you want to take the position that Archie is an unknown as a coach, that seems fairly reasonable.
Crean is no unknown. His deficiencies with coaching, roster construction, etc. have been beat to death on this forum. And, IIRC, even by you.
If you want to suggest that Crean was a (fill in the blank) coach and when it's all said and done, Miller MAY be worse, I'm OK with that. Suggesting though that the whole story has been written and the outcome is that they aren't "even in the same category" is pure hyperbole, and probably just a hope for clicks on the forum.
