Anyone taking the Lily drug Mounjaro?

I just started it on Friday. My doctor believes this will be a real game changerr. Says it’s the most affective drug on the market since the Statins. Im not that overweight and I was pre diabetic at one time but was able to lower my A1C to 5.4. Mostly im hoping it will cure me of my sleep apnea and help eliminate the belly fat and extra fat around my neck.

By Saturday night I was already feeling like i couldn’t eat as much. In fact I felt bloated all weekend. I understand there are some
Support groups which will help me figure out best practices. Basically my doctor told me I can’t drink or eat desserts while on this. Im gonna need more info than that. I work out hard so I don’t want to lose muscle mass. Curious if anyone else here is on this.

As of now it’s only been approved for diabetes but My doctor says it’s being fast tracked for weight loss and sleep apnea.

Ladies looked good but Bowling Green Ohio was over matched.
Moren could have substituted earlier than she did but that was her style last year as well.
Parish looks really good in all phases. Scalia is a scorer - 3s and drives.
Meister will be a good big for us, this year and especially next year.
And we still have Holmes, Grace, Chloe, and Yardon as starters.

More of the Same

- Horrendous offensive line play ruins everything. Horrendous offensive line play ruins everything. Horrendous offensive line play ruins everything

---Then--

- Terrible special teams (it shouldn't matter who you're playing, special teams should be solid. Instead we are consistently bad: bad against Idaho and bad against Ohio St)

- Defense on the field constantly because of the two items above.

SIGH

At least Dexter looks promising.

MH17 downed by Russian military missile system, say investigators

International team say evidence shows missile came from a Russia-based unit.

An international team of investigators say they have uncovered hard evidence that a Russian military missile system fired the missile that shot down flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014.
The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was shot down over the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014. All 298 people onboard were killed.
For the first time, the investigators appeared to confirm that the Russian military was complicit in the downing of the plane, at the very least by providing the missile system used

Is it possible…

…to build a football program that is fun to watch on anything other than solid offensive line play?

The CKW years had a lot of flaws, but there was always hope with those lines and running backs, even with dodgy QB play and terrible defense. The Zander/Tevin game at OSU comes to mind. Same with the Hep years and the latter part of Cam Cameron and of course Bill Mallory. If you can’t keep your offense on the field and defense off the field, it makes every other position group on both O and D worse. I feel like I’m in the late Bill Lynch/early Kevin Wilson years of hopelessness, or maybe that Dinardo year when there were only 38 scholarship

Looking back at the hiring of CTA, it seems to have been an overcorrection after a couple of decades of terrible defense: spend your limited resources on defense and overspend on strength and conditioning. That was fine until the last of the CKW O-linemen were gone. It also works in basketball (see CMW, RMK), but isn’t working out in football.

Are there any fun to watch teams that have mediocre O-line play in FBS?

PSA Georgians

You need to get out there and vote for Herschel. You really screwed us in 2020 by dicking around in the run off. Many of the countries ills fall squarely on your shoulders.

It is time to atone for your sins.

Herschel is not worthy of a senate seat, his opponent is a far more serious person. In an average year, I could not blame you for staying home. But you must now atone for your sins in 2020 and the sins of Pennsylvanians who sent a an equally less serious person to the senate on Tuesday.

The house can block a lot of legislation, even with a narrow majority, but it can’t stop or slow down more “I don’t know what a woman is” morons from entering our judicial system.

This has been your PSA.

Plenty to Play For

November 16, 2022 | DaddyHoosier | iufb.net

The Indiana Football Hoosiers have a 7 in the loss column. It would be dishonest at this point to say the season hasn’t been a disappointment. With Indiana struggling on both offense and defense and just two games remaining on the 2022 schedule, it would be easy to pack it in and to start strategizing for next season. It would be easy to go through the motions of media sessions, practice, and film study with the goal of making it across the finish line using the path of least resistance.

One of the great things about football is that it’s a lot like life. When things aren’t going your way life just keeps coming at you. It’s relentless. It never stops.

Indiana still has two more games on the schedule – Michigan State and Purdue. Neither team is going to feel sorry for the Hoosiers. If anything they will look to pour salt on the wound.

This leaves Indiana with a couple of choices. They can go through the motions, roll over, and take their beating. Or they can get up off the ground and fight back. The reward for fighting back may not seem readily apparent. In fact, on the surface it may seem pointless. But in the game of life we often grow more through adversity than we do when everything is going good.

If you don’t at least try you will never know what could have been. Neither Michigan State nor Purdue are world beaters. Michigan State may have a slight edge talent-wise but it’s certainly not insurmountable. With Purdue it’s probably pretty even. Not to mention that both of these games are trophy games – the Old Brass Spittoon and the Old Oaken Bucket are on the line. Rivalry games are about pride – bragging rights for the next 365 days. Recruits are watching closely.

At this point Indiana has nothing to lose. They can play loose and have fun with it. Anything can happen.

Anybody who is going through the motions and not playing with energy and effort can have a seat on the bench. It’s a great opportunity to see what some of the younger guys can do in a game situation.

The fact of the matter is that this program was 14-7 in 2019 and 2020 and went to the Gator and Outback Bowls respectively. Obviously Tom Allen can coach. College football programs are so quick to give up on coaches when things don’t go according to plan. The leash is so short and the pressure so high that it makes it very difficult to succeed anywhere long term. Perhaps Coach Allen’s high buyout is a blessing in disguise. CTA has at least one and probably two more years to get things righted. If he takes the opportunity to learn from what has happened and to grow into his position good things can still happen.

There is no need to dream about what other coaches out there could potentially come to Indiana because it’s not going to happen any time soon. There is a part of me that is genuinely curious to see how Allen himself responds to all of this.

And if the players care about their coach as much as they appear to from the outside looking in, this is an opportunity to play for him and to show everybody that things aren’t as bad as they seem.

By the way Rutgers finished 5-7 last season but they were still invited to a Bowl Game. I know that seems like a longshot right now but if it happened once it can happen again. If nothing else play for pride – both personal and program pride.

There is a seen in Rudy where the title character is down to his last shot of getting accepted into Notre Dame. As he’s chatting with Father Cavanaugh the Priest says,

“Well, you’ve done a hell of a job kid, chasing down your dream.”

Rudy replies, “Who cares what kind of job I did if it doesn’t produce results? It doesn’t mean anything.”

Father Cavanaugh: “I think you’ll find that it will.”

Even if there is no shiny reward in the short term Indiana should still play hard and fight until the end because is the right and best thing to do.
