Today is HUGE

A huge day today for the program, but especially for Woody and TJD.
Are we legit? Does Woody have them ready? Can TJD lead this team in a tough battle vs a truly formidable opponent?
Tonights game will be a great indication of just how far Woody has moved the needle on the program, and just how tough and determined TJD is to be the best player in college hoops. My money is on both of them tonight. Let's go!

Nice game Hoosiers

From a Cat fan, I appreciate good basketball. When I watch your current team, I see Bobby Knight’s fingerprints all over it. Hard nosed defense, motion offense with lots of ball movement and players that hustle their asses off or they sit. Woodson is the perfect fit. The IU vs Purdue games are gonna be epic this year. Could be #1 vs #2 Good luck the rest of the season.

Gary Patterson to UNLV

I am not saying he is the guy I would want to hire, but I would hope a job at IU is much better than UNLV. I get tired of hearing no one will come here, but some "retread" coach is always looking to prove himself again or actually likes coaching. Think Mack Brown at UNC. Patterson is 62. Mack Brown was 67 when he went back to UNC. I would take UNC's results since his hire. Patterson's last few years at TCU were less than mediocre, but he built that program and 2/3 + of the roster are his guys and the will probably be in the playoff next month. Someone like him won't be coaching for us for an extended period. What is our average coaching tenure anyway? If we could figure out a way to start looking for a HC I would love to put IU up against UNLV.

OT Farmland Prices

@zeke4ahs i couldn’t remember the thread where we talked about farmland prices. Last night 42 acres were auctioned off. A farmhouse, barn, shed and 6.5 acres went for $605,000. Decent buildings but nothing fancy.

The remaining 35.5 acres sold for $1,000,000. Just a little over $28,000 per acre. Total may have been 41 acres instead of 42. This farmland was reclaimed land that was probably strip mined for coal in the 70s. In other words poor farmland.

Official Prediction Thread: IU vs. North Carolina...

and what are we drinking tonight?

The first of the three big ones we've had circled on our calendars for months, though the shine has come off of this one a little bit. It's no longer a top-10 battle of unbeatens as we had expected, even just last week. But this is still IU-UNC at Assembly Hall and that carries a lot of weight in the college hoops world. I expect the Hall to be blow-the-roof-off raucous tonight!

The Tarheels should be playing with some fire tonight after losing 2 straight. That actually could be a detriment to them- they're already so streaky, if they come out pressing, or expend too much energy in the first 10 minutes trying to make up for those 2 losses all at once, that will play into our hands. Some really good matchups here as well. I'm really looking forward to TJD going up against Bacot and XJ/JHS working hard to keep Love/Davis in check. My thought is that TJD (with help from Malik and Race) gets the better of Bacot, the guard tandems play to a draw, and our depth and defense wears them down. As long as Love doesn't catch a heater from 3 and we don't let that Nance guy go off for 20+ points, our D and the crowd will bring home a W in a back-and-forth, high tempo game.

IU 84
UNC 77

Bell's Kalamazoo Stout for me tonight.

What say you Hoosier fans?
