For all of the remote workers on here

So, I started a new job last week. I had been a traditional in office working stiff most of my career. Post Covid, I was hybrid, but 3 days in office per week.

Now, I’m totally remote working with people from all over the globe. My question, what are some tips you can offer to: stay connected, not go crazy, get in more steps each day, etc? I know it will be an adjustment, but I want to get into some solid routines, especially before the weather goes to shiite.

Trump and MAGA spirals into a vortex of self pity, victimhood and utter unaccountability, and the GOP is fine w it.

The only question now is: are we all going to get flushed down this America-hating, Russia/Turkey/Hungary-loving bizzarro world along w MAGA?

How does the GOP not see what has become so painfully obvious to us all?

Fellas, we gotta aspire for more than "owning the woke mob" and vindicating a convicted felon/election usurper.

This is your and our last off-ramp. This election, fellas. You're still a man even if you dislike Trump. Don't fall for his macho bullshit, fellas. A real man defends those who have nobody to defend them. A real man does NOT jump on a bully train full of UFC fighters and pro wrestlers to help a dickhead like Trump. A real man calls those big studs out for "manning up" (lol) and flexing on the little ones.

Surely some of you have kids and understand the effect Trumpism bestows on our young people? Do any of you ever wonder what your Jesus thinks about this?

Trump's gonna win, guys. Unless you do the honorable and decent thing, that is. I'm not asking you to become a liberal. Nor a Dem. I'm just pleading w you to finally rid us of this cancer. It's up to you guys.

You wanna see Zelensky get captured or killed and for Russian to move Westward? The rise of the right worldwide always correlates with worldwide combat. You want you son fighting for this? For Trump?

I want my kids fighting for the same things my grandfather stormed Utah Beach over: democracy and anti-fascism.

Remember that?

Senate Leadership Fund (GOP) internals on key Senate races

Apologies for starting a seperate thread, but this doesn't really fit in with the Harris/Trump thread. I know DBM is a fan of "leaked" internals, so I thought it might be interesting to some to see what the organization charged with capturing the Senate for the GOP is seeing in their internal polling. It tracks from Aug to Oct, so you can see the shift which they view either negatively or positively how the race has evolved...

This might be interesting to fellow political junkies like myself because they don't just give the raw numbers. They actually add an analysis of what in their view has happened and why. There is one huge surprise (in addition to the SLF's own internal polling showing Brown up 6 in Ohio) and that is the race in Texas. Notice how they blame Cruz's problems on being outspent and facing a barrage of ads from Allred...

It's a little hard to read since trying to paste tables is not in my wheelhouse.

TEXAS SLF Internal Poll/The Tarrance GroupOct Mid-SeptCruz Fav/Unfav: 49/48 49/47Allred Fav/Unfav: 48/36 40/28Generic Senate Ballot | GOP vs. DEM: 52/43 49/45Pres Ballot | Trump vs Harris/Biden: 50/45 50/46Senate Ballot | Cruz/Allred: 48/47 47/44

TEXAS POLLING NOTES

"Beginning in early August, Colin Allred has been heavily outspending Ted Cruz on TV, closingup the multicandidate ballot to a single point. GOP outside groups (including a dedicated Cruzsuper PAC) joined the fray in late September and narrowed Allred’s spending advantage. We are carefully monitoring additional media placements and will have fresh polling numbers here next week..."

The main takeaway from a Dem standpoint is that in one month (Sept) until Oct they show the race going from 47-44 Cruz, to now showing Cruz only up 48-47. This is a race where favorability could tell the tale because Cruz is at 49-48 compared to Allred's 48-36.

This is a 5 page memo going into great depth about the numbers in all the contested Senate races...They weren't polling Nebraska previously, but the memo mentions that they are in the process of doing so because Fischer's issues seem to have crept up on them. The largets lead they show for Pubs in states that will decide the Senate is Tester down 4 to Sheehy the non-native Montanan who has told a variety of stories about how he got shot in a parking lot at a National Park...

I didn't think Trump was going to do Ava Maria a third time but then BAM 2nd encore!!!

Man, was that awesome or what? I love watching Trump sway side to side to Sinead and November Rain.

And Noem...wow...a masterful job. I'm sure the local animal shelters know who should emcee their next local public access telethon. "Do you want to hear another song, Papa?!"

I swear he slurred "let's make America gayer" right before the gay anthem YMCA came on. And, I mean...let's be honest: who doesn't love hearing YMCA in a crowded room full of medical emergencies?

"Play it again, boys! But never run up hill! Give me the Leonard Hallelujah, not the Buckley crap! When I look into your eyes....I see a love restrained..."

Dude just stood there. W a mic. And people waiting to ask him Qs. lol

This might actually move the meter. lol

What we've learned about the Coachella incident

I wanted to put this in a seperate thread because it goes to what I said about all the criticim the SS and FBI got following the assasination attempt n Trump in PA. People were asking why they didn't stop the kid as a "suspicious person", and I maintained that he looked like a typical Trump rally attendee and people with guns are not exactly unusual at Trump rallies. For example, we know because of testimony to the Jan 6 Committee that the SS was aware of armed individuals outside the security perimeter when Trump was giving his speech.

We also know that Trump was upset that some of the people who weren't coming inside the perimeter were disauded by the fact they had to go thru the manometer r and presumably surrender their weapons. So he yelled at the SS demanding they stop screening people because "they're all my people and they don't want to hurt me". So that is the background to both the failure to detain the kid in PA, and the actual detainment of the guy in Coachella.

I'm not talking about criticism the agencies got regrading how they handled seeing him on the roof. I'm talking about video that showed him walking around (looking like any other rally attendee) where people claimed he should have been stopped for "acting suspicious"...

Now remember the post captioned "They're never going to stop" which linked to this twitter genius and his detailing of the "3rd attempt" "on Trump's life? And all the conclusions some people leapt to, like Harris/Dems were to blame and it's all a plot?

It's almost damned if you do and damned if you don't. People heard about the guy being detained at Coachella, and then were up in arms that he was "released". It was all over the internet, people (who are geographically) challenged saying it was Kamala's fault due to rules she put in place while she was "ruining" SF. People saying it was CA's lax laws, and releasing felons.or that he was an FBI plant, so thy let him go.Just about every nutter conspiracy theory you could imagine... (Read the comments)

So it turns out that the guy was a Sov Cit driving a vehicle with fake license plates. But the reason he was initially arrested was because he advised the officers that he had loaded guns in his trunk. He claims that that was common practice when he attended Trump rallies in NV, but that he was unaware that apparently things were different in CA. According to the interview below he was actually a Caucus Captain for the Trump campaign in NV. He also claims to know members of the family, including both Eric and Jr. Which if true would kind of make them look (more) silly, since they were on social media attacking the Admin for the lax security and basically claiming that Harris was "responsible"...

So watch the interview and judge for yourself whether this guy was a dangerous assasin, a nutjob, or both. Maybe had the PA incident not occurred this might have been handled differently. One thing you can be sure of, is that many of the same people who were critical of him being released initially, are now going to turn around and claim the SS and sherrif's were harassing a Trump supporter by arresting him in the first place. I'm not sure he's really much different than the average Trump rally attendee, but I do think it will be interesting to see the reaction from the Bobbsey Twins if he can prove he actually knows them...

Another clip from Newsnation less than 2 days from the first one...

Again check out the comments and you'll again see people blaaming Law Enforcement for the unwarranted harassment of an innocent (if wacky) Trump supporter. And of course both Harris and the Dems are to blame as well. Because...of course...

PBMs

Indiana looks to take on their expenses to PBMs. Amazingly, Indiana law doesn't require the managers to turn back all of the money they save Indiana. The article says Indiana is one of the few states without that requirement. What the heck?

It in no way makes sense to negotiate with a CVS affiliate to determine what cost CVS will charge as if the affiliate was a neutral broker (just to pick on the CVS /Caremark relationship as an example). There must be a better way.

The company behind the report, RxConnection, LLC, said a contractual loophole called “off-setting language” allows PBMs to keep more money they’re supposed to pay back to the state.
”Indiana is one of the few states that allows this to even happen to begin with, and so that’s an area that definitely needs to be addressed,” State Sen. Andrea Hunley (D-Indianapolis) said.

It's Time!!!

I've only attended a handful of Indiana games. In fact, I can remember everyone of them.

2019 - Michigan State 40 Indiana 31
2018 - Penn State 33 Indiana 28
2017 - Michigan 27 Indiana 20 OT
2016 - Michigan 20 Indiana 10
2015 - Michigan 48 Indiana 41 2OT
2011 - Penn State 16 Indiana 10
1988 - Indiana 33 Minnesota 13

Indiana had a legit shot to win everyone of those games they lost. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a Hoosier victory in person since I was a 17 year old watching Anthony Thompson run all over Minnesota.

I'll be at Memorial Stadium Saturday and it's f*cking time for me to see another win.
