I had made this as a reply to another thread. But I thought it may warrant its own.

The more I see and hear from Gov. Shapiro, the more I want to see and hear from him.

I'm sure I have a slew of policy disagreements with him. And I'm not necessarily saying I'd vote for him should he run for POTUS. But I am saying that he seems like the very kind of person and leader we need more of in the country. No vitriol. No cheap inflammatory rhetoric. No sharp elbows. Just pitch perfect in a moral sense.

He strikes such a contrast from what so much of our politics has become -- certainly in the Trump era, but even before that. When he said that the firefighter Trump supporter who was killed at the rally was a hero, I believe he genuinely meant it. We just don't see much of that these days.

I think the country would be well-served by the Dems putting forth more people like him (and others I hold in high esteem like Andy Beshear, Jared Polis) -- as well as the Republicans putting forth more people like Brian Kemp, Glenn Youngkin, and even our own Eric Holcomb (although I'm skeptical that Eric has the chops to go further than he has).

That's a little more promising...

Here's hoping they are wrong about our OL and that I'm wrong about our LB's... If we get unexpected excellence from those two areas we might have an outside shot at something special...

A freshman who did not play last year

Tonight, it was 150. The max effective range of a M16 is 460 meters. I never in 28 years of Army service knew anyone who could make that shot. 150 yards is center mass. Maybe we should wait for the facts. Why is a roof top with a 150-yard shot not occupied?

So I kind of forgot I’d be paying more insurance when I got a new car. I hate it, but I suppose I have to go insurance shopping. I’ve been with my company for more than 30 years. Is it reasonable to be paying $500 a month insurance on a 2018 Audi? I’ve had a few claims, but a pretty decent driving record. Also, if I choose to pay it off instead of carrying a loan, are there things I can drop to make coverage cheaper?

Anyway, he’s hearing (not from the coaches), but through others, that Tucker is looking like the best player on the team right now.

Take that for what it’s worth. We’re used to offseason hype like this. The significance, to me, is that when thinking of this team, Tucker is a guy I often forget about. Usually focusing on Rice, Carlyle, Ballo, Mack, Reneau, etc… if there’s a kid that even might be better than all those guys?… just underscores how good a job Woody did filling the roster at season’s end.
