Katic and Smith expect to improve in Bosted’s 2nd year

Many believe OL improvement is key to keeping IU’s QBs upright.

With IU's whirlwind offseason and roster movement finally subsiding — including three transfer offensive linemen, four incoming freshman offensive lineman and nine offensive line returners — Bostad is back to work this fall camp, attempting his latest crucial step in turning around IU's blocking unit.

The Hoosiers starting offensive line is certain to look much different than last season, but this isn't Bostad's first rodeo with personnel changes and significant transition. He's found himself in similar situations before, and almost every time he's found success on the other side.

There isn't much the 57-year-old Bostad hasn't experienced in his 34 years of coaching, and he doesn't intend for year two at Indiana to be any different.

"I would say he hasn't changed at all, honestly," Smith said. "We've kept the same coaching points as we did last year, and obviously we saw a good, steady growth from last year from 2022 with him coming on to the staff. So he's kept all the same coaching points, regardless of what the plays are, so we're still going up."

Added Katic: "I think what's so great about him is he prepares us in the meeting room and on the field so much during the week and after practice, and then on game day he's cool. He doesn't talk much but [makes] corrections, and he kind of lets us just do our own thing. And I think that's what I like a lot about him, because he knows he's prepared his guys.

Thoughts on our leadership

We all know about Coach Cignetti's record as a head coach. Joke all you want about hsi Google comment; but it is a fact. Yes, he is egotistical. Apparently he does something right when you consider all the staff who have stayed with him from school to school and the number of JMU players (and their competitors) who came to IU to play for him. The man has the 4th highest winning percentage among active coaches. Winner.

Look at our QB room. It is loaded with success. Consider the following:

Kurtis Rourke:
*2022 MAC Champion
*Former MAC Offensive Player of Year
*All-MAC 1st Team
*Holy Trinity Academy HS conference champion

Tayven Jackson:
*2x undefeated Indiana 6A state champion
*Won 28 games as starting QB at Center Grove HS

Tyler Cherry:
*Indiana 6A state champion
*23-4 record as starter at Center Grove

Alberto Mendoza:
*2x 1st Team All Miami0Dade County
*26-2 record as starter at Chrsitpher Columbus HS
*2x Florida Class 4 Metro State Champion

Winners all. The coaching staff and QB leadership of this team is filled with people who are accustomed to winning. I believe this is very much going to help us as we play a schedule filled with winnable games. Can't wait for this season to start!

It happens every Year....

one of our best players gets hurt, suspended or drops off the team to give us that old feeling of getting kicked in the NutSack,(Lucy and the football trick) then we spend the rest of the year wondering what if! Who do you all think is the most irreplaceable player or players on this team?
I for one, love the depth CCC has built up and hopefully losing one key player will not have the catastrophic effect like previous seasons. A couple guys that I would hate to lose would be Rourke or Carter Smith. Here's hoping for a healthy productive year!
Go Hoosiers!

Quick breakdown of the Safety position

I'm hoping that by moving Nic Toomer to FS they've adequately replaced our biggest loss (L.Moore to Ole Miss) of the off season...

Should be fun to watch this group fly around and make plays...

One guy I'll watch with interest is Sanguinetti... He's close to being good if he could become more consistent...

Justice for Ashli Babbitt grinds along

In an order that should surprise nobody, the District Court has ordered that the federal government must answer the complaint alleging Ashli Babbitt’s wrongful death.

In no way was her killing appropriate police conduct. That said I suspect the issue of exigent circumstances will be left to the jury. Babbitt family wants the case tried in San Diego, while the USA wants the case tried in government-friendly D.C. That issue is still unresolved.

Creed/3 Doors Down

Watched really good concert last night at Ruoff in Noblesville. Creed back on the road after 25 years.

Interesting crowd of folks in their 60s down to 20s. Around 25,000, it was packed.

3 Doors down had American Flag on stage and was prominent in their videos. They actually mentioned Jesus. Seemed odd pairing with Creed.

Crowd broke out in USA chant a few times during the night.

OT: USA vs France Women’s Basketball Gold Medal Game

25-25 at the half. Teams combined for 3-21 from 3 and 19-68 total FG’s for an impressive 27.9% average. 50 total combined points. Anyone making an argument this should be treated the same as the men’s game from a business / salary perspective is lost. Tough to watch. Hopefully US can pull it out and match China gold medal count.

Dang Ol Covid Data - Free Carl Lee’s Data!

Short version:

Had to report my Covid/Covid vaccine info to a new doc recently

Had 5 vaccines before I caught actual Covid in July 2022

Took “Lagevrio” (molnupiravir) to survive

2 more vaccines after that

All MD recommended until my RA guy said “stop that”

I had personally believed my immunosuppressant RA drugs protected me from the cytokine storms that killed Covid victims

The algorithms that spy on us constantly now saw my Covid stuff on the computers of the world and sent me a new video from my old Limey YouTube Covid Dude John Campbell - who is still at it, and now mad that the data is not being published by governments or vaccine companies

He here discusses a Canadian study report - not yet peer reviewed - which appears to be an attempt to force data disclosure by “finding” 30,000,000 “excess deaths” during COVID, and hypothesizing (them sciency cats love them some hypotheses) that COVID lockdowns and COVID vaccines were the culprits.

Let the brothers KNOW! Free Carl Lee’s data!

What happens after the election?

Even if Trump loses, it's not going to be over. Not by a long shot.

Olive Branch

I’m struggling. The wife and kids finally beat me down and were’re getting another f#cking cat. I really don’t even like cats. Evil creatures. I use to pride myself on toughness, no more. On a postive note, I was able to negotiate several “new dick blow jobs”. For the record those are blow jobs where my wife has to pretend it’s like she’s seeing my beautiful dick for the first time. None of those half ass married blowjobs. I might as well vote for Harris now. I have nothing to live for.
