Lilly CEO

WISH-TV 8 just had a story about the CEO of Lilly (Ricks) talking about Indiana. He complains that Indiana is not keeping up with education, it is hard to recruit to Indiana, and healthcare in Indiana is too expensive. It does not appear that WISH has put this online yet, and the only other source I see appears to be IBJ but I do not have a membership to confirm

On healthcare, here is a story that Indiana has the 6th highest healthcare in the country.

I hope the interview with Ricks comes up soon as I am curious about his education specifics. Indiana claims to have lower costs justifying lower wages, but 5th highest healthcare does not seem to support that entirely.

NYT: McCarthy and House/Senate pubs tried to convince DJT to resign after Jan 6

Of course, McCarthy today said it is a lie and that absolutely never happened.

Well, the NYT reporters came on Rachel Maddow and brought with them the audio tape, which they played.

The tape is McCarthy talking with Liz Cheney about Trump and

1)If he could be removed from office by the 25th amendment
2) If not that, whether there was enough GOP votes against DJT to make him lose the impeachment trial. They thought it likely.
3) whether the cleaner way for the party would be to convince Trump to resign, immediately.

McCarthy promised Cheney that he would call Trump and recommend that he resign.

Yes, it's on audiotape.

They say there are many other tapes, including Mitch McConnell discussing how "we might finally be rid of that @sshole, and the Democrats are going to do it for us"

and Mitch saying that if DJT is not convicted during impeachment, then what could a president ever do to be convicted

Juicy.

The NYT book comes out in 2 weeks.

Louis Vuitton store in Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati cleaned out.

Not by a shopper, but by a crew of 8-10 masked and hooded looters. Happened mid-afternoon yesterday. An upscale mall in suburban Cincinnati. Cleaned out the store in a few minutes. $413,000 worth of merchandise.

Maybe we’d all be better off if they had gone to the food court and cleaned out Panda Express.

Seriously, is anyplace safe anymore?

broilees bringing in another frankenplayer...

7'1 Will "Ice" Berg from Sweden. Plus, IceBerg's dad is heading to that hellhole of west lafayette with him. porkchop is intent on continuing that thug ball up there... but it always backfires to a team like North Texas or the Peacocks. broilees have the most losses to a lower seed in The Dance, 17, than any other team. Tradition!

Last I heard he was playing linebacker and wasn't high on the depth chart. I heard lots of good things about this kid's intangibles, bummer to see him go. If I had to put an optimistic spin on it, maybe the reason was Kaiden Turner passed him on the depth chart, which means he impressed the coaches in camp. That's total speculation but that's the most logical reason for a kid that seemed to really enjoy his time at IU. 9/10 times when people seem content with their school and choose to transfer it's because of PT.

Were not even a year and a half in and this is what we heard from the 2nd in charge.

Another 2.5 years, God help us...The space rant...I can't stop laughing at this woman. Hey these would make great openers or closers for any situation ;)

"The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time...there is such great significance to the passage of time."

Space...It affects us all AND it connects us all.

To see what is possible…To see what can be…unburdened by what has been…to reject the notion that the way things have always been…has to be the way things will continue to be…this is the work we are doing together

So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically thats wrong.

There is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day. We are doing it.

Your going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to proof of who you are. Well theres a whole lotta people who live in rural communities theres no Kinkos theres no Office Max near any of them.

We also recognize just as it has been in the United States, for Jamaica, one of the issues that has been presented as an issue that is economic in the way of its impact has been the pandemic.

“At some point, you know, we are going to the border,” Harris replied. “We've been to the border. So this whole, this whole, this whole thing about the border. We've been to the border. We've been to the border.” Holt responded, “You haven't been to the border,” and she provided her signature awkward laugh. “I, and I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t – I don’t understand the point that you're making."

Elections matter…and when folks vote they order what they wanted in this case they got what they asked for.

Can a person really love their job/career?

As I scroll through LinkedIn, I always see people posting about how great their company is or how fulfilling their career has been. I’ve never ever felt that way about any place I’ve worked or my career in general. It has always been a means to an end for me.

But I also know I’m a jaded cynic is most all facets of life. So I’m approaching this with full recognition on my inherent bias. Does anyone here really love their job and/or career?

Mallory McMorrow kicks some QAnon (adjacent) Butt...

If you're like many of us wondering how individual Dem lawmakers could fight back against baseless QAnon- type charges being levelled against them by some of their more extremist GOP colleagues, this brief speech from Dem Michigan State Senator on the floor of the MI Senate yesterday provides some clarity and direction.

Now I don't know if the Republican Senator in question (Lana Theis) is a full blown Q Nut. But she sent out a fundraising letter filled with Q centric charges against Mrs McMorrow accusing her of being "pro-pedophile" and characterizing her as a "groomer". So I l'm labelling Theis as what Kurt Eichenwald characterizes as Q_adjacent- not necessarily a full blown Q Nut, but using the terminology to appeal to those types to win votes (and raise cash)...

The speech was major news everywhere (probably not on FNC or their morning show), but most outlets have shown excerpts/edited versions. So this clip from Daily Kos is the only version I've seen that encompasses the entire 5 min or so, with no additional outside commentary. So if anyone is fearful of being indoctrinated by the Kos- you can watch the speech here without any fear of commentary...

Now for a little more backstory and commentary, Morning Joe had McMorrow on this morning, and she provided some excellent insight into the whole story...

Rivals Team Ranking Calculator

I try not to get too caught up in the rankings but like any fan I pay attention and like to tote a "top x class" when talking with my buddies about the trajectory of IU basketball. That being said, I just took a quick glance at the rankings and am puzzled how the points are being calculated? I'm sure there's a metric or point allotment I'm missing on the surface but how can this be true:

9. Illinois- Consists of 4 4-star players
13. Indiana- 2 5-star, 1 4-star, 1 3-star

Average star/player doesn't get you to Illinois. Number of recruits doesn't get you to Illinois. What am I missing here?
