There is now a "Real-Time Live Chat" feature that we will be using at theHoosier.com. Unlike the threads, this feature is not for 24/7 consumption and is not available to be used as an ongoing thread. This feature is for specific and real-time conversations. Once you are in the "Forums" area, look to the left of your name and you should see a "message" symbol with most likely a green '0' next to it. If you open it you should see an available, but unopened chat - "TheHoosier Live Chat Room," and a "browse" feature next to it that. If clicked on it should be the "Adidas 3SSB Live Chat" These should add to your gameday and overall site experience. There will always be a staffer onboard to not only engage with those in the discussion, but these will also be civil conversations. If you cannot express yourself in a manner that does not include foul or abusive language, this will not be the place for you. It will not be tolerated in any way.

We plan to use this around, during and after football & basketball games, as well as as for weekly scheduled discussions, with sport specific staffers and guests, as well as former players such as Mitchell Paige, Dylan Powell, Todd Leary, Charlie Miller, etc. Sometimes there might be a set topic and sometimes it will just be an open forum for Q&A's.

We will have scheduled evening discussions for both sports on different days. For football. what is the best evening of the week to talk IUFB? Basketball will be a little tougher in-season because games are 3X more frequently. Once the season starts there might not be a scheduled weekly day because of having up to 3 games per week at times. But please let us know your thoughts of when you would like to have these lIve discussions. It is pretty straightforward, but I am going to leave it open for a bit so you all can go in and familiarize yourself.

2024 MLB Draft - July 14-16...

There are a lot of player rankings out there going into the draft. D1Baseball released their list of the top 200 college prospects for the draft. IU led all B1G schools with five players on it and was right there at the top with the power schools that dominated the tournament this season. Here are the schools at the top of their list in numbers.

Texas A&M and LSU lead all schools with seven apiece in the Top 200, while Tennessee finishes third with six. Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, Mississippi State, Oregon State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest placed five prospects each.

Iowa was 2nd to IU out of the B1G with four players on the list to include their entire weekend rotation of Brecht, Morgan, and Obermueller, as well as OF Sam Petersen. Iowa's RHP Brody Brecht ranked the highest of the B1G players on it at No. 18.

IU players that were on it:

No. 54 - Connor Foley

No. 97 - Luke Sinnard

No. 182 - Brock Tibbitts

No. 186 - Tyler Cerny

No. 192 - Carter Mathison

So much crap on this board about "look at how bad Trump is" or look at how bad Biden is". I wondered who are these posts trying to convince? Is there anyone on this board who could be swayed? Or is this forum just becoming a cesspool for pissing contests and no real discussion?

I didn't add other potential candidates as Biden has said he is staying in the race.

Daily Updates Adidas 3SSB Championship in Rock Hill, SC

Indiana Elites' 17U team took an unblemished record and #2 ranking into the 3SSB Tournament Championship. The first two games played were "Showcase," or "Exhibition" games that do not impact the tournament, nor count against their official record. That's a good thing too, because Indiana Elite has taken the first 2 losses of their AAU season. The first game yesterday to Phenom United out of Ohio 70-61 and then this morning IE lost 78-57 to New World 3SSB from the fertile hoops area of DC/VA/MA.
Braylon Mullins once again led Indiana Elite in scoring with 20 points on a pretty good shooting day. Overall Mullins was 8/ FG, 4/8 3FG, 3 reb, 2 Asst, 2 blk, 0 turnovers. Trent Sisley was solid, but not spectacular. The Montverde transfer had 9 points on 4/7 FG, 1/4 3FG, with 2 rebs. Malachi Moreno had a double-double game, but it wasn't enough to slow New World. Moreno was 5/7 FG, 3/5 FT, 10 reb (6 off), 1 block, but had 7 turnovers.

The team from Indiana only saw Malachi Moreno (3/5) and Mark Zachary (1/1) get to the charity stripe, while their opponents were 17/19 on free throws. That includes 6' 0" guard Aiden Argabright hitting 12 of 12 on freebies and 6/12 FG, 5 asst for 25 points. Grant Polk, a 6'-7" SF for New World led all scorers with 26 points on 8/12 FG, with ALL 8 of his made shots coming from behind the arc (8/11 3FG)! As a team New World shot 9/18 on 3FG 50%. That will always be tough to beat.

The tournament starts at 9:45 AM tomorrow for Indiana Elite. Hopefully they can get things on track, or it will be a short trip. They open play at 9:45 am with updates.

He's back!

After resting and self-tanning for several days, Trump held a rally in Doral yesterday. His 75-minute talk featured profuse sweating, slurred speech, incomplete sentences, freeing the Jan 6 "hostages," and rambling (again) about Hannibal Lecter. Some other "highlights":

  • "A waitress came over, beautiful waitress. And I never like talking about physical. She's beautiful inside. Because you never talk about a person's look. Ever. You never mention it. The other day I got very angry. Some man called Chris Christie fat. And I said, "Sir." And then he said he was a pig. I said, "Sir! Chris Christie is not a fat pig!" Please remember he is not a fat pig. Please take it back." (Meanwhile, Trump was wearing a sport coat in stifling heat and humidity, no doubt in an effort to hide his big gut and fat ass).
  • "Mothers will never again be forced to watch their children overdosing and hosp-lee. And we will never again allow mothers to watch their child hopelessly dying in their arms screaming, What can I do. What can I do. Help me God, what can I do? We are a nation whose once revered airports are a dirty, crowded mess." (Quite a pivot there. With respect to our once-"revered" (??) airports, they're definitely crowded this summer but not dirty. In any event, how would he know?)
  • "All these people have water spots! Why don't I have one?!" (No idea).
  • "We don't eat bacon anymore."
  • "Yes, and yes, and quickly, says President Trump." (No clue).
  • "We have nuclear subs and 5 warships in Cuba." (He had just been talking about Russia so presumably he meant to say "Russia" instead of "We." Or did he?)
