No reason to defend Trump. No bank in this country would do business with the guy for decades. Deutsche has a reputation for a reason.
Russia has only energy. Trump had the US in a dominating energy posture. Biden took our foot off the gas for Putin’s benefit . Trump pushed NATO to counter Russia 4 years ago. Trump wanted to establish permanet military bases in Eastern Europe. You guys laughed then, now NATO is scrambling to pick up Trump policy.
We've talked about this before. The disinvestment in US energy started several years ago. Contrary to your beliefs.... who is in the WH has only ancillary (at best) impact upon the domestic energy industry.....as we operate in a free market. Not a govt controlled energy market.
You continually posting otherwise doesn't change that fact that energy company bankruptcies were at an all time high a few years ago. That the energy investors that were still left after dumping dead money into the industry for 8-10 years insisted that oil firms NOT expand production.
Trump couldn't even save the coal companies that bet their existence on him from BK.
By your less than nuanced measure, Obama would have been the best energy president in history.... with the massive expansion in shale drilling under his tenure.
Every President would love to have cheap gas prices. World doesn't work in such simplistic ways.

Biden promised often to end the fossil fuel industry. So has several cabinet secretaries. The Biden administration will shortly unleash 500+ pages of securities and banking regulations for the sole purpose of making it more difficult for the oil industry to raise capital and borrow money. Other parts of the federal government are dreaming up production red tape as are all blue state governments. The market might be free, but US production is bound up in ball-crushing red tape and regulations.
Anyone who thinks government policy doesn't greatly affect US energy industry is a fool.

We are the biggest oil producer in the world but US producers don't even break even until oil is above $60. Considering higher input costs as we sit today from materials and labor.. it's likely closer to $70. There are better ways to make money in this country than betting on that. If global oil stays priced at $100+.... then plenty of people and capital will rush back. It's just basic economics.
We could import a bunch of immigrant labor and that would lower input costs.... but nobody wants to do that either.
You could have this same discussion with housing. We've got a big shortage.... and everyone agrees it's too expensive. But at the same time you don't want to bring the cheap labor in to build houses. Is anyone shocked that we spent 4 years greatly reducing immigration and now we can't do and buy all the shit we expect for as cheap as we expect it?

Remember when Trump threatened tariffs on German autos? That was the leverage he used to negotiate an agreement for Germany to build more LNG Ports to receive US exports. Biden shit-canned those negotiations and took sanctions off of Nordstrom II. Now Germany is scrambling. Yesterday Germany temporarily nationalized some of Gazprom’s NG units to ensure its NG supply. Trump saw this coming 4 years ago.
Putin is leveraging his unique position in the JCPOA negotiations as way to partial sanctions relief. That is not long term. Reporting is that Biden‘s brain trust has agreed because Biden, like Obama ( Who might be calling the shots) is hell-bent on an agreement with the Mullahs. This is pissing off not only Israel but some of the Arab states as well. A few weeks ago, the Saudis wouldn’t even accept a phone call from the President of the United States.

The Mueller investigation was limited in scope to events of 2015-16 and Russian influence in the 2016 election. And I take full advantage of every damn law especially back in the days of telemarketing. Every successful business person has some trash on their resume and the billionaires? I can only imagine. Whatever failures Trump had he's still a billionaire.
He gets tongue-tied but that was just a slip of the tongue.
