The man who shot dead two women at a yoga studio in Tallahassee, Florida, on Friday before killing himself was a far-right extremist and self-proclaimed misogynist who railed against women, black people, and immigrants in a series of online videos and songs.

Scott Beierle, 40, was named by Tallahassee Police as the gunman who opened fire inside the Hot Yoga Tallahassee studio, killing two and injuring four other women and a man.

Those killed were named as Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, 61, who worked at Florida State University's College of Medicine, and FSU student Maura Binkley, 21.

On a YouTube channel in 2014, Beierle filmed several videos of himself offering extremely racist and misogynistic opinions in which he called women “sluts” and “whores,” and lamented “the collective treachery” of girls he went to high school with.

I’m so tired of this. Constantly this type of news. Tired of all these men angry about every single thing in the world. And taking it out on innocent people.

It’s been said many times. If folks got laid more often, we’ve had far less anger, hate and issues.

The “incels” are insane. Didn’t know that even existed until a few years ago. Couldn’t he have just paid for an escort every once in a while?

That’s a lot of right wing, extremist crimes lately. Definitely a trend...

And folks still say that Trump’s rhetoric doesn’t have an effect on people. It absolutely does. It makes those on the fringes more likely to engage in this type of behavior. I fear we will see more of these types of things in the next week or two. It’s not as if Trump is ramping down his rhetoric.

Incels are a pathetic bunch. From what I have seen these guys are not physically unattractive but have a personality disorder that makes them very unattractive to women.

I am waiting for our usual suspects to highlight some 'leftist' murderer doing the same thing, sourced from Stormfront or Infowars.

The usual suspects have already taken their shots a this story.:

"Tired of all these men angry about every single thing in the world."

"That’s a lot of right wing, extremist crimes lately. Definitely a trend..."

There's nothing right wing about this killer.

Curious why you say this and what distinctions you are making between "right wing" and "trump supporter"? Because this clown made videos in 2014 that basically epitomize some of trump's main talking points...

"he was highly critical of the Obama administration in his 2014 videos. In one video, he said that he resented having to subsidize as a taxpayer “the casual sex lives of slutty girls” through the Affordable Care Act’s contraception provisions. In the same video he also criticized “the invasion of Central American children” in the US that year and said the migrants seeking asylum should be deported on barges."

I focused on the headline in the opening post:

Tallahassee Yoga Shooter Was A Far-Right Misogynist Who Railed Against Women And Minorities Online

There is nothing "right" about "railing against women and minorities".

As for your larger point, I don't consider Trump to be conservative at all, although I think he has adopted some of that for his notion of a political philosophy. I would agree that some of the stated positions of the shooter are on the political right, but I think the connection between his beliefs and being a murderer is left wing idiocy.

When Muslim lunatics murder people you've blamed all Islam, but when a lunatic who spouts Trump talking points murders people it's "left wing idiocy" to suggest any connection with either Trump or the right wing. #nuance

You're parsing. The headline maybe should have distinguished between "right" and "alt-right", but this clown was definitely a spawn of the alt-right,racist misogynist 4 chan culture which reveres Trump.

This guy,and Sayoc, and Fields, and Roof, and Cruz and Bowers all took it farther than your typical racist nerd spawned by that culture, but they all share the same irrational hate. Some are content to restrict themselves to "twitter (and other social media violence)- like the attacks on Sarah Jeong and Tanya Gersh. But others (like the ones I listed) and this Beierle incel clown posse character are even more demented and the rhetoric only fuels their hate untill they explode.

"Alt right" has become a left-wing construct. It's new packaging for the left's decades-old talkng point that the right is racist.

"Boiling puerile"? "Essense"? Oh my. LOL.

BTW, I like the the word "puerile". I usually use "churlish". I think I'll use it when talking about Spartacus.
Petulant puerility is the essential feature of the right. The incel murder/suicide is petulant puerility distilled.

Sorry but the Nazis and Neo Nazis all proudly self identified. Same is true of the alt-right,which btw adheres to the same ideology. And the same terminology.

For example the use of Lugenpresse (lying press) to describe the mainstream news media as a purveyor of "fake news". Or the Vanguard organization choosing the English translation of Blood and Soil (Blut und Boden) as the name for it's website...
Btw, Vanguard is the group that James Fields belonged to...

No I didn't. Not even close. Most victims of Islamic Terrorism are Muslim. I posted often about that.
I just took a trip down memory lane after doing a search of your posts for "Islam".

Your posts repeatedly emphasize the central role of Islam when Muslim lunatics kill Americans. Your posts blame other Muslims for failing to take action against the extremists in their midst. Your posts ridicule the argument that extremist Islam is a perversion of Islam and shouldn't be regarded as Islamic. Your posts demand that in our speech we specifically emphasize that these lunatics are Islamic terrorists. You've even claimed that when observant Muslims say "Allahu Akbar" in an airport, this is sufficient reason to become alarmed that a terror attack may be imminent.

But when lunatics spouting right-wing talking points murder Americans -- and say they're doing it because of the right-wing talking points -- you deny they're even right wing. You deny there's any problem on the far right, frequently claiming that Democrats have concocted the far right out of their fevered imaginations. Even though the right-wing lunatics spout Trumpian talking points, you dismiss this because they're lunatics. It's "left wing idiocy" to claim otherwise, you say.

You exemplify your own persistent critique of Islam.

But when lunatics spouting right-wing talking points murder Americans

I probably said all of those things. But context is important. Major Hassan shouted "Allah Akbar" as he murdered more than a dozen and wounded dozens more at Fort Hood. He left numerous fundamental Islamic terrorist footprints. Yet the authorities looked the other way thinking they didn't want to appear anti-Islamic and the Commander in Chief called the event "workplace violence" as the victims were first denied a Purple Heart.

The authorities called the shooters in the San Bernardino mass murder "homegrown violent extremists inspired by foreign terrorist groups". Everybody with a lick of sense knew and understood this was a terror attack inspired and encouraged by fundamental Islamic web sites and spokesmen.

There was little to no attention on the Beltway sniper's Islamic motivation.

The list goes on. Yeah, I said these terrorists were inspired by belief in aspects of Islam. In response to the charge that this is not "true Islam" I asked who are we to say what is "true" Islam. All we know is that there are scores if not hundreds of Muslim clerics who advocate terrorism, and the Iranian Mullahs advocate and pay for terrorism throughout the Middle East. Millions of Muslims are only interested in living a life of peace, having a family, and raising kids like we do. Many of those Muslims have been terrorized, raped, had their kids kidnapped, and were murdered by other Muslims simply because they are not the "right kind" of Muslim. But I have never condemned all of Islam. Not once.

But when lunatics spouting right-wing talking points murder Americans -- and say they're doing it because of the right-wing talking points -- you deny they're even right wing.

There is so much wrong here I don't know where to start. I'll begin by pointing out that racist rants are not right wing and certainly not conservative. I'll add that there is no conservative politician or pundit who advocates or pays for violence, bombings, and mayhem. And the notion that someone is a crazed killer because he "talks the same language as Trump" is silly on its face.

You may have been right in the past. This wasn’t always the pub party.

But CO, this is who the Republican Party is now. This is the danger of ignoring what Trump days and does, just so some policies get through and federalist society judges end up on courts. By doing it, the folks that still identify as republican have effectively condoned and even endorsed his actions. All of them. Very rarely does a GOP politician stand up to Trump. Because they can’t afford to do it. They know if they piss off Trump’s Base, they’re done in the next election cycle.

Put another way, this is who the President is. And he is the leader and the dominant figure of the pub party. The party supports him with a 90% approval rating.

In short, the GOP & Trump are absolutely one and the same now. I don’t understand why you can’t see this.

A guy like the shooter would never vote dem. The pub party/Trump has made him feel very welcome- and even worse, emboldened. Emboldened enough to act on his worst instincts. In other words, the folks committing violence are actively being amped up by Trump. It’s his closing strategy for the mid terms. He’s admitted it.

There are a-holes regardless of party. However, the difference is that people aren't being murdered at their places of worship, yoga, and the local Kroger by dems in the space of about 2 weeks.

Your comparison is false equivalence and is invalid.

Not sure how anyone could take this post seriously. The spark for his "going in" was his hatred of HIAS, which is a PRO IMMIGRATION (ie left leaning) organization. The guy was a freaking White Supremacist, who ranted to the cops about wanting to "kill Jews"...

First off you're using a clearly labelled OPINION piece to make your point. That's pretty ridiculous on the surface...

But aside from that, the implication of what you said to Zeke was that Bowers was some sort of "leftist" or Democrat. I assume that is what you mean when you say "Your being fed a lie. One example - the Jewish Temple murderer was from your side. Did you not know that?"

The reality is that Bowers' beef with Trump is that he feels Trump is NOT FAR enough to the Radical right,as Bowers is and the way he wants Trump to be.No idea how you convolute that to mean that Bowers is a Democrat, since Democrats are to the LEFT of Trump. From the editorial YOU linked...

"But actual Nazis disagree. Bowers was explicit in his dislike of the president, saying he did not vote for him and had never “owned, worn or even touched" a Make America Great Again hat. Challenging the news media narrative that President Trump praised Nazi demonstrators in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, Bowers agreed with another extremist that the president had “betrayed” right-wing radical protesters by “comparing them with a violent mob.”

Do you really not understand that the writer here is claiming that Bowers IS a NAZI, and that he was upset that Trump portrayed the people Bowers SUPPORTS (Nazis) as a "violent mob"? Now we can argue over whether Trump actually condemned the Nazis at Charlottesville or not.

But what is irrefutable is that people like Zeke,Myself, and everyone else "on our side" felt that Trump coddled the Nazis. In other words people on the Left are FAR MORE representative of being Bowers' enemies since he considers himself a Nazi and we are a lot more willing to openly condemn Nazis and Fascists than Trump is.

I have no idea how anyone could read the following and somehow conclude that Bowers identifies with the Left or Democrats...

"When Trump said he was a “nationalist” at a Texas rally last week, the left exploded with the usual Hitler-this and dog-whistle-that criticisms. Bowers made clear that from the extremist point of view, the president is not a nationalist but a “globalist” controlled by a Jewish conspiracy." Bowers is a NATIONALIST, and he seems to reject the idea that Trump is one too.
Again Bowers is saying that Trump is not right wing (politically) enough to suit him. He (falsely) claims that Trump is a "globalist", which if you're unaware is the brush that Trump (and his supporters) try to paint Liberals with.
