BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana struggled to convert hits into runs in Sunday's series finale vs. Michigan, falling 4-3, at Bart Kaufman Field, despite hitting in eight of nine innings.
Four IU players tallied multi-hit games as
Casey Rodrigue each had two. Indiana had 10 hits for the 17th time this season and the fourth time in five games.
Indiana tallied a hit in each of the first seven innings, but trailed 3-2, leaving seven on base. The Hoosiers struck out 11 times.
Michigan held a 3-0 lead and maintained the advantage until a solo home run from
Craig Dedelow, his third of the year, put the Hoosiers on the board.
Dedelow was in the middle of the action again in the seventh, hitting a two-out double, before the only error of the game allowed him to score and
Brad Hartong to reach first, making it 3-2 through seven.
The Wolverines added the eventual winning run in the top of the eighth as
Isaiah Pasteur's solo home run in the bottom of the ninth would've forced extra innings.
