Lots of focus on how he got here and why he came.

It sure sounds like we've made the decision to get serious about football. I hope it pays off. It's nice to be excited about football again. The more I read about his history the more I am glad IU stepped outside their box to make the hire of coach Cignetti.
Oh, I am sure it is exactly what I thought it was.Another great interview. Fun guy to listen to. Thanks for posting it. I did not know that IU‘s NIL has more than tripled! You have to wonder what the “things he had not heard for a long time” from the players were. Sounds like the CTA culture may not have been what we all thought it was.
Can someone please explain to me how our indoor facility is awful? Any specifics? No mention of how awful our indoor facility is.
Ha, that would be a good problem to have. If Woody (who no other decent program would hire) got a raise for one tourney win in two years, Scott better be ready to fend off any poachers if Cig becomes a target. Honestly I think Scott would do all he can to keep him. Of course we are a long way from this being an issue…Indiana will have the $$$ to up Cignetti's salary if he comes out of the gates and wins 8 or more games in season one. I'm sure he would certainly be approached if he has a good season and Dolson will need to act accordingly.
Maybe Cubes after the Mavs sale might get more involved with IU. No idea just hoping.Once again CCC makes me believe!
If the internet is to be believed, I thought Cuban didn't like football??!!
Yet he was at that gathering. Think it put a burden on him to cough up 100K? 😁
He’s not a big fan or believer in the long term prospects. It’s out there.Once again CCC makes me believe!

Coach Cig doesn’t appear to be someone searching for more $$$. He is making more than he ever hoped for. He almost stayed at JMU.Indiana will have the $$$ to up Cignetti's salary if he comes out of the gates and wins 8 or more games in season one. I hope he's successful to the point where he's in demand. That's a good problem to have. And we'll cross that bridge if we get there.Coach Cig doesn’t appear to be someone searching for more $$$. He is making more than he ever hoped for. He almost stayed at JMU.
Give him the resources to make IU competitive and he will retire from IU!
Or, maybe he’s just fed up with the basketball program and is switching gears? He’s not a big fan or believer in the long term prospects. It’s out there.
He has some things to say about the NFL that is for sure.Once again CCC makes me believe!

Maybe he recognizes it is a “necessary evil” if you want a successful athletic department in the current/future era of college sportsHe’s not a big fan or believer in the long term prospects. It’s out there.
This has been the main problem over several decades and now that the basketball program has struggled for some time it has triggered some deep thinking for the basketball only crowd. Bout time.Maybe he recognizes it is a “necessary evil” if you want a successful athletic department in the current/future era of college sports
Football pays the freight. Being an astute business man, I'm sure he realizes that.Maybe he recognizes it is a “necessary evil” if you want a successful athletic department in the current/future era of college sports
Right, there's an old saying, you need to spend money to make money, simple business 101. Must continue to energize the NIL.Football pays the freight. Being an astute business man, I'm sure he realizes that.
