I know, call me crazy. We haven’t seen a game, hell we don’t even know if any of our current portal players are returning, but I actually feel so good about this hire. I literally talked to my best friend for an hour and we both agreed indiana should hire a guy from the NBA. This was days before the announcement.
These kids nowadays grow up wanting to be in the NBA more than ever. Even home grown Hoosier players want more after they play basketball at assembly hall. Having a guy that can sell them on 25 years of experience is so valuable. More valuable than almost any coach in college currently. Who else has 25 years in the NBA? With Thad Matta in the back ground and presumably some home run assistant coaches I could see us getting 5 star players showing interest very soon.
We have to prove something to these high school kids next year. Major turnaround. We do that, top players might be knocking on our door.
