Foote has himself in a jam in the 7th. He hit a batter, gave up a bunt...

single, and then a double to allow UC to tie it. There are still runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs. Halstead has replaced him.

UC wins 5-4. Folks, we just lost a home game to a team that was 0-15..

in true road games and was 8-21 coming into this game. We haven't been the same since we beat a pretty good Louisville team, 3-0, which seems like an eternity ago.

Congrats though to Coach Ty Neal - doing good work at Cinn. - with that said, it's time for the Hoosiers to clean things up and start winning again.

IU strikes out 14 in 5-4 loss

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.
-- Indiana took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth but Cincinnati responded immediately with two runs in the top of the seventh to retake the lead and held on for a 5-4 win at Bart Kaufman Field on Wednesday evening.

Freshman Logan Sowers hit a 2-RBI single in the sixth to give IU its last advantage, giving the Hoosiers the lead and momentum, but quickly lost it in the following frame.

An RBI double tied the game for the Bearcats and left runners in scoring position. Senior Ryan Halstead took over on the mound and hit the first batter, loading the bases.

Halstead retired three of the next four batters, including two of his career-high seven strikeouts, but UC converted a single to bring in the winning run with one out.

Indiana took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Scott Donley's RBI groundout.

The Hoosiers scored again in the third on Isaiah Pasteur's solo home run to tie the game, 2-2, but the Bearcats would respond with a run of their own to take a 3-2 lead in the fourth.

LHP Kyle Hart, the first of five on the mound for IU Wednesday, started for the Hoosiers, tossing five strikeouts in just two innings.

Man. If Ty is doing good work with that record, you must think our guy is killing it.

Well, yes, it is quite annoying...

to never contribute anything other than drive by one liners about how bad the coaching is. IT is Lemonis' first year. We've seen them play really well, and seen them struggle. They don't have the depth they had last year. It is possible to be frustrated and not think the program is "destroyed".

Total rebuild over there - will take a little time - he was a big part of our success - let's wish him well.

Coach Neal is starting 4-6 freshmen every game....THey have won 3/4 last games beating number 6 team in county 2/3 last weekend....Their record is not great, but they are improving and should be tough next couple of years...also remember, Coach Neal's family is from Bloomington and about half of UC team was being recruited to play for Hoosiers before Neal went to UC....There was a lot of incentive to beat IU......
