I am just too lazy to worry about it. I'm not sure if I have 10 posts there the last 5 years, and I seriously doubt anything that was controversial. Probably some glitch in the system.

that said, if done deliberately rather than some glitch, i'm guessing it was done at a higher level than the mods, and was done for stances i've taken on the bball and fball boards, not The Cooler.

more specifically, i'm guessing it's about my stances on conference expansion/consolidation, tv money, and the money side of things, which i have been active regarding in the past.

though as with my posts here, i always lay out my case as best i can, and don't get into name calling or trolling.

"moderating" is just a sanitized word for censorship.

and there is no way to censor without infringing on speech and thought, or to do so "fairly".

back in the day, Peegs had posted what wouldn't be allowed, and iirc, it was pretty much limited to personal attacks and using curse words, and maybe bad mouthing the players themselves.

i have no problem with removing posts/replies that are just personal attacks with zero other content, as that would force posters to actually post or reply with some actual content other than just the personal attack, even if the content is only an explanation of why so and so is an idiot communist nazi.

but even then, that's limiting it to just removing the personal attack post, not banning.

once censorship takes place, especially on a political forum, that forum loses what it's original purpose was.

and putting up with all the posts and posters we don't like, is just an absolutely necessary part of having an open forum, and without which, it's just some level of a propaganda site.

Except the posts for certain posters with personal attacks are never taken down. It only gets taken down if you are not the same page as the moderators. Whatever like I said they will eventually get what they want on the Water Cooler which is 100% of the people walking and talking all the same lines and politics. In fact I think that is the way a lot of those posters want it anyway. The bbal board is far more interesting anyway and people are usually pretty respectful and do not go off and profanity laced tirades against those they disagree with. All boards censor some but a lot are not so one sided about it. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.
