Maybe. But IU probably won't beat Michigan until Michigan is really bad.
Indiana hasn't beaten a good team this year, they've just had some luck in facing more bad teams than usual.

This is partial true,we have not beaten a good team BUT those are games that we still lost in the past.
So we are getting better but not by leaps and bounds which is ok.
It’s just gonna take a few more years of steady progress to beat a team like Michigan.

No, actually I looked up some of the recent IU games with Michigan. The best chances were in 2015 and 2017. Indiana took them into double overtime and a single overtime. Those were excellent opportunities to beat those people.
I thought this year was, too, but the injuries just killed our chances. Had Penix and Whop been healthy, I like our chances.

You guys do realize that year-in, year-out the top teams in this conference have the record that they do by beating teams beneath them without a winning record?
This year is no different than most but it just so happens that some of the usual suspects (IU and Illinois) are not at the bottom.
We could very easily be Rutgers. In fact, we have been them for most of our Big Ten life. The fact that we’ve even moved up to middle tier is an accomplishment in and of itself.
Absolutely, this handwringing about so and so being down is pitiful. It means that you are not enjoying the ride but are looking for reasons to nitpick.
Do you guys think that Michigan fans put asterisks next to their 900+ wins because they came against 4-7 Purdue teams???
Our best chance to beat them was when Rich Rid was there and they were 3-9 that one year and of course we were one of there 3 wins. Toledo beat them that year iirc. Very frustrating that we cant beat the Big boys even when they are down. We have only beaten Meat Chicken 3 times in my lifetime and I am 60 years young. They were in 1959, 1967 and 1987. I hope we can break this spell before I get too old to enjoy it.
