If that could be proven, he should've been visited by authorities and removed from team. She should not have dealt with that over political/ethical differences.
Well, we no longer have a men's team so she should stay!
Probably get flack for saying what I said but it was known she was leaving. The other player is known but I’ve not seen the email only know about it. The dude has a screw loose and won’t be back. That’s all I’ll say about that. I only posted that comment because I didn’t want to see comments about loyalty etc…she could’ve ran to the media but chose not to. Says a lot about her. Hope she has success wherever she lands.

What happened? Was she shooting better than him? I bet that's it. On a serious note, one of my regrets of the past was not fighting through some situation and quitting too quickly. This is one concern of mine with the transfer rule. It creates a bunch of quitters.
I was joking about the first part. All I know is this woman is quitting. My second part was quite serious. We do have regrets from quitting. Of course I don't know the exact reason she is quitting.
She isn’t quitting. She’s transferring out of a place she no longer wants to be at. Foot speculative reasons we may never know.
You call it transferring. I call it quitting. I say quitting because she came to IU.
Everyone she had a relationship with on the team is now gone, either thru transferring or graduation. essence she would have been the Momma of the team somewhat like Cloe was, and don't think her personality actually fits that role. This could be part of her reasoning IMO.
I think he is that dumb. I somewhat felt sorry for him in the way several treated him, although his comments were a bit odd. Hard to believe this guy's a pastor after reading his foolish comments above.
As long as coach Moren isn't in the portal we'll be fine.
When I first heard this my thought was she's looking for a team to go to FinalFour with and raise her draft status. That a men's player threatened her is just disgusting and shows how out of control the men's program has become.
IU wbball is in full rebuild mode with no NIL. It may take many years to get back to the upper half of the conference for IU women.
IF it's true that a men's player threatened her, I can understand her leaving if she felt unsupported by the athletic department. Lots of conjecture here. I wonder if we will ever know what happened.
I do wonder about the state of our women's team. Without a coaching change, almost everyone will be gone. Half the team is in the portal, and with many others out of eligibility, only Shay returns with any amount of experience. With six players in the portal, including our best returning player (Garzon), is there a program-wide issue going on here?
New rumor from an AAU coach is Garzon is considering Purdue, just to rub it in IU's face. I personally discount that as unlikely, but if it happens, something really foul went down with her at IU.

Absent any particulars nothing so far discussed in this thread makes sense on its own.
If I leave my job to take new one, most people would say I quit my job, not that I transferred to a new job.
And in today's athletic environment, these athletes are kind of like employees.
I think VPN's point was the grass isn't always greener on the other side and his personal regret of quitting instead of working through issues seems similar to what some athletes are facing. And that staying for the long haul could prove to be beneficial.
Women don't get paid NIL save for the superstars. Maybe top 20 women in college. So your analogy falls apart like wet toilet paper. If Garzon got 20k last year, she'd be in the top 50-60 of women's players in NIL money just from basketball. Also remember like Edey, any money she makes from NIL would have to come from Israel, her home nation, or void her visa.
Purdue is a dumpster fire. She would be doing herself a major disservice to make that move.
If this rumor about her being threatened/harassed is true, why did she wait this long to enter the portal?
As I said, she would be a fool to come to Purdue, which is why I give it little weight, but the rumor is circulating among AAU coaches.

Uh I can’t imagine that. Purdue was awful this year. I have no idea what kind of money IU has comparatively, but I know they have some . A couple wealthy donors specify money for the women. My guess is she will end up at a school that’s competing for a title.
He has a tendency to go off the rails. It's best just to ignore him and maybe he'll go away.

Mine too, Purdue is a dumpster fire with truck tires in it, and are down to 3 returning players from last years team that only won 2 Big Ten games.
So sad. Utter lack of loyalty of any kind by players.

You do realize IU men are at the forefront of making this the new normal right? You even have iu men's fans saying don't recruit high school players at all, just bring in hired guns year after year.
Some was good and right. Some I probably could have fought harder. It's kind of what life is about.
Hard for me to believe one of the players on men's team threatened her or whatever in some way. That kinda of news would have exploded across social media.
