FSU may not even be a top 10 or 15 team - easy schedule and a lot of luck were needed for their undefeated season.

Probably the perfect year for the playoff. Would have been hard to keep an undefeated defending national champ out of the championship game in the old system.

Under the old system

Under the old system it is likely we would have seen #1 Bama vs the defending National Champion and undefeated Criminoles of FSU for the game 'labled' the National Championship game.

I've wanted a playoff system for a long time. I'm not sure that just four teams are enough.
