I like the idea if he would be willing to do it. The $$ wouldn't be enticing but maybe he would do it for IU and to work with a great friend? I doubt it but I'd like it if he would.
Just get rid of the program if they decide they need to hire Wittman.I like the idea if he would be willing to do it. The $$ wouldn't be enticing but maybe he would do it for IU and to work with a great friend? I doubt it but I'd like it if he would.
That seems to be what they said when Woody was first hired.Just get rid of the program if they decide they need to hire Wittman.
Then the Matta hire smoothed things over. Now that we have an entire year of evidence of Woodson not listening to Matta or Fife, it’s back to being a crappy hire. That seems to be what they said when Woody was first hired.
Yes. Welcome to modern college basketball. We don’t need an old guy who adds nothing to recruiting. You'd rather have a guy that's in the AAU scene?
HEY! You learned how to spell his name right at least! Should they hire you? Not saying he is a fit but you are a really ignorant posterJust get rid of the program if they decide they need to hire Wittman.
I am not sure what Matta does on a daily basis. I have read that Wittman, who is currently a consultant, was a big help to Woody at the end of the year. Then the Matta hire smoothed things over. Now that we have an entire year of evidence of Woodson not listening to Matta or Fife, it’s back to being a crappy hire.
Adding Wittman would be absolutely laughable.
A guy who isn’t a fit hasn’t been an impediment to hiring by the coaching staff!HEY! You learned how to spell his name right at least! Should they hire you? Not saying he is a fit but you are a really ignorant poster
Could you imagine wittman recruiting. Well back in 1979 kids your grandfather might have seen me play. Then the Matta hire smoothed things over. Now that we have an entire year of evidence of Woodson not listening to MattaShould you imagine or Fife, it’s back to being a crappy hire.
Adding Wittman would be absolutely laughable.
Why? Because Wittman might actually be loyal. Trying to think of the name of the IU coach who demanded loyalty. Think he won a little.Just get rid of the program if they decide they need to hire Wittman.
Well, I guess I am assuming that Wittman's basketball IQ is better than that. I think 17 year old kids would take note of a former NBA player and coach meeting with him and his parents.Yes. Welcome to modern college basketball. We don’t need an old guy who adds nothing to recruiting.
WTF does having someone having seen you play really matter?Could you imagine wittman recruiting. Well back in 1979 kids your grandfather might have seen me play.
Why would he listen to Fife? I think he has a handle on things. Boy are you butt hurt over this. Then the Matta hire smoothed things over. Now that we have an entire year of evidence of Woodson not listening to Matta or Fife, it’s back to being a crappy hire.
Adding Wittman would be absolutely laughable.
Woody seems to have handled recruiting okay...same deal. I have no idea of Wittman would even consider it but I think he'd be a huge asset to IU.Could you imagine wittman recruiting. Well back in 1979 kids your grandfather might have seen me play.
The idea that the only reason you can recruit is because of who you were as a player? Hell I never heard of the other current assistants. RMK seemed to do pretty well for at least 20 yrs and as I recall he got some bench minutes when he played. Some of these guys live in a video game world it seemsWoody seems to have handled recruiting okay...same deal. I have no idea of Wittman would even consider it but I think he'd be a huge asset to IU.
Jury is still out on Woodson..imo.That seems to be what they said when Woody was first hired.
Jury is still out on Woodson..imo.
Right now his off season hasn't started well..
WTF does that mean?A guy who isn’t a fit hasn’t been an impediment to hiring by the coaching staff!
He is a really good guy! I am sure he's a good coach too.Hire Keith Smart.
Uh, well actually it kind of is a coaching problem at some point. What a bunch of numb-nuts'! Woody made great strides with the defense. The offense could not hit wide open shots or free throws. As if that was a coaching problem.
Thank God Xavier learned how to play the point. Or was that just serendipitous?
The only reason I think it may be Wittman is because he and Woody are best friends. I was shocked that he was willing to be a consultant. I don't know that he and Keith are tight like that.If it must be an IU guy, I’d rather have Smart.
Uh, well actually it kind of is a coaching problem at some point.
More accurately a recruiting problem.Uh, well actually it kind of is a coaching problem at some point.
He would be a terrible hire. You would be all for it though.HEY! You learned how to spell his name right at least! Should they hire you? Not saying he is a fit but you are a really ignorant poster
No, he would be shitty because he has no recruiting experience, and he is a proven shitty coach in the NBA.Why? Because Wittman might actually be loyal. Trying to think of the name of the IU coach who demanded loyalty. Think he won a little.
Fife has had more college success than Woodson ever will. Why would he listen to Fife? I think he has a handle on things. Boy are you butt hurt over this.
Why because he played at Iu he was a crappy nba coach and he is old. I guess we could hire kitchell too and get the old gang back together.Woody seems to have handled recruiting okay...same deal. I have no idea of Wittman would even consider it but I think he'd be a huge asset to IU.
He does not need to recruit. Fife couldn't recruit a cheerleader. Horrible at MSU but we as IU fans excused it b/c he's an IU guy. And RW may be a shitty NBA head coach (he wasn't, see Wizards) but must must be a pretty damn good assistant as he was in the league for a while. No, he would be shitty because he has no recruiting experience, and he is a proven shitty coach in the NBA.
Fife got lots of big time recruits at MSU. You clearly don’t know much about his time there.
I doubt RW becomes a coach nor Smart or Lewis (as will be speculated in time), but he would not be a bad choice.
He took the likely Wizards to the second round of the playoffs several years in a row. Not that I'd expect you to know what you're talking about. No, he would be shitty because he has no recruiting experience, and he is a proven shitty coach in the NBA.
That team was loaded with talent and underperformed. He took the likely Wizards to the second round of the playoffs several years in a row. Not that I'd expect you to know what you're talking about.
Okay. How did they do after he left? That team was loaded with talent and underperformed.
The year Scotty Brooks took over they had their best year in 40 years.Okay. How did they do after he left?
