Worst officiating in years

Credit both defenses a bit. Pressure all over. Refs have allowed this game to be in the 30s by not calling touch fouls early on (both ways).

Credit the defenses to an extent, but Purdue isn’t the reason we’ve missed several layups and point blank put backs.

Hate blaming officials, but....they call the terrible charge call on Romeo which impacted the game late....and don't call the over the back by Harms, which won the game for Purdue....if you call the one you have to call the other....

I only caught the last minute 30 so can’t comment on the majority of the officiating. However, it seems hard to blame them for a loss when your best player doesn’t take a shot the entire second half.

Well they did call the total BS tech on Haarms and didn't call the Edwards goaltend. So I'd say we're more than even

The refs were bad. Could have been bad for Purdue early on, if they called touch fouls. I will give the refs credit on that, they didn't call many weak fouls.

When the Haarms tech was originally being viewed as a foul on Davis, I thought it was a joke. Haarms had the personal but didn't see a tech by Haarms or Davis.

I thought the Haarms tip in was over the back, live, but didn't look that way on replay. He is so tall and long.

I thought we got the home whistle most of the night...
I wouldnt go that far. Purdue was able to hold, grab and push a lot most the game especially in the first half. We got called on some ticky tack fouls on the other end. There were some good calls for us that evened it out but I wouldnt say we had a big advantage. Thought the charge on Romeo was bogus but still got to find a way to finish this

He is 7'3". It is crazy to watch him bunny hop and rebound over forwards. He is not normally a dominant rebounder, just really really tall and is in the right place sometimes. I agree it was not over the back the last play.

Haarms didn't get the T (IMO) for what happened on that play as much as the culmination of several things he had done up to that point. He was involved not only in the two incidents but got in Davis and Romeo's face a couple of times taunting, or at least it appeared that way.

I don't like it when the students chant FU at all and I know most Purdue grads don't like it when their students do it. I had no problem with the students getting on his case, because he had been an ass all night, but stop with the FU stuff.

why even play with these blind Zebras?
It was pretty bad. And it’s why Purdoo has been doing well and will flame out early in the tourney. But we had plenty of opportunities to score and missed bunnies and FTs. And several dumb TOs

Both teams had a lot of blown plays. The refs blew calls rather evenly. IU played tough but lost. Maybe they’ll remember this loss next year and it wont matter who is graduated, transfered or gone to the NBA. The crowd was great and as Bobby Knight would say, “I only want to be in a position to win at the end of the game”. IU was but lost. I hope we finish out the year playing hard.

Yep. Neither team can objectively say they got screwed tonight except by their own shooting. I hate it that a kid that acts the fool as Haarms did all night gets the win but I not lose any sleep over it.

I agree. This team lacks the talent to be great or even very good. But if they play hard I can watch any team we field all night and root for them. Unlike some here, I hope we bounce back strong next year.

Agreed. If jerome hunter is as good as advertised, if you have faith in DD, and the Jackson kid plays well, well, you just never know. Race Thompson played just a few minutes at Minnesota and had five rebounds. Thats not fantastic-fantastic but better than a kick in the butt. A reason, not the reason, but a reason IU didnt play as well as we liked, I believe, is because of injuries. When u can’t practice against the best it show against the best of other teams.

It sounded awful on national TV. Especially for those with young kids at home. Whoever started that should be banned from IU sporting events.
they did not chant fu (although it sounded a little like it) the were chanting Huck your Faarms

The chant was definitely FU. No mistaking it. And it did sound awful.

I thought the first incident was all on Davis. After he threw Haarms down then stood over him I fully expected he would be tossed.

As sad as it is to say between the chants, the awful product, the blowouts by bad teams, the lack of effort all combined it has become an embarrassment to be an IU fan.

It definitely was NOT fu!

And Davis didn’t “stand” over hasrms, he was trying to get his arm free.

Alan Henderson tweeted about the chants.

If you notice, we say that every time Bo Boroski works one of our games. He must have been refused entry into IU or was turned down by an IU coed. Maybe he is just a terrible in every game.

Officiating didn't cost us the game. It didn't help, but we lost because of free shooting, FG shooting, and early turnovers.
