Looking at Bell's contract from UMass, he was only making $625k a year, which is only slightly more than Sheridan made as the OC. And it certainly doesn't seem like a move that was made on the strength on his resume as a coach because, to be frank, it isn't very good.
I'm worried that Allen genuinely did have to take a pay cut just to dump Sheridan and the AD was never willing to pay for a splash hire. Am I crazy, or is this a genuine concern? The confluence of the pay cut news that the press release made seem directly connected to Sheridan's dismissal in combination with what looks like a very underwhelming, but cheap, hire has me concerned.
