Woodson

His demeanor certainly reminds me of a turtle, but I think his head coach training taking place in the NBA made him prolific at player management. The players loved him but, at least at this age, he didn't have the fire necessary to compete at a high level. I never got the sense that his players were overthinking his great strategy, it looked more like the players were slowly learning how to play, from playing other teams who had strategies. Ha.

The lack of basic fundamentals in obvious situations was way too glaring.

I really believe they saw what howard did early at michigan did and thought it could work. Though howard was 15 years younger and in the end it did not work.

Great player. Horrible coach and lazy imo.

IMO, this is just piling on.
Mike is gone and for me, he not only failed as a coach but he destroyed his legacy as a player.
What I mean is both this coaching stint, I would have loved to meet him and shake his hand.
That is no longer true.
Maybe what I said is piling on too!

I’m with you Al, it was his arrogance that did it for me. The way he treated the people outside the program, the fans, the media, Don Fischer.

He could have one press conference and own his horrible coaching record, admit that he wasn’t the best at coaching college basketball, really didn’t like recruiting, apologize to the true fans, admit that he got petty with the media, and simply say he’s sorry that it didn’t work out like I wanted it to, and I hope you can forgive me for not giving the Indiana University Basketball Program what it deserved.

If he did that, I’d probably be able to at least see him as a player first, and coach second. Right now, Woody as Coach is etched in my brain.

Well, I've got good news for you, then: Woodson is no longer w the program!

Yeah, we hired a guy named Devries 2 weeks ago.

I don't understand someone's point of stirring a pot of shit to determine the consistency of the shit.

Is the plan for the OP to dump the pot of shit all over themselves as they dance on the Woodson grave from a few weeks ago?

Woody would still be coaching IU with an intact reputation if he had actually embraced the college game. He had the ability and the resources to do so.
If he is bitter, it’s on him.
