He is either retiring or getting fired. Dolson is doing him a solid by "allowing" him to control the narrative. If he wants to go out kicking and screaming then it's going to get ugly for him. It's not like he can say he is the coach and that's it. If need be, we will have the police escort him from the building and then change the keycode. One way or the other, he will not be IU's coach next year.Did I miss anything late last night?
Has it been CONFIRMED that he will retire or resign?
Will it be immediate or at end of the season.
If it is at the end of the season, could what happens the rest of the year change his mind?
I don't get the respect thing. Sure, he was a great player and competitor. However, the crap he pulled at the end of last year with the "real fans" BS and then to top it off by remaining to be lazy and just wanting to buy a team doesn't earn him respect as a coach. I believe that is what he is getting paid millions to do. He just didn't believe that portion of the job.Guess I got my answer. IDS just now reporting that he will finish the season but will not be back next year. Hoping fans will give CMW the respect he deserves as the legend he was in his playing days. Just wasn't to be as a coach.
This gives Dolson a big window to make the correct call. GoHoosiers
Bingo. He was a great player here 45 years ago but we owe him NOTHING given the crap he has pulled . He got 20 million out of IU for a job he never should have gotten in the first place. And his total arrogance and elite attitude turned off alot of people. We owe him nothing at all. He was given every single opportunity to succeed and he failed.I don't get the respect thing. People have said a million times he was a great player over and over again. But there is a reason you DO NOT hire former players and especially ones who are not qualified. You end up in the current situation. And he is going kicking and screaming so he is not doing himself any favors.Must have not read exactly what I said.
"Hoping fans will give CMW the respect he deserves as the legend he was in his playing days."
Nothing about respect for his coaching.
I read it. I just don’t think he deserves any respect since as an adult he treated IU and its fans like $hit. That is 20 million $$$$ in $hit. Pull upMust have not read exactly what I said.

Management could and should have let him go last year: more their fault than Mike.I don't get the respect thing. Sure, he was a great player and competitor.
