Wilson fired

I watched a few Tulsa games under Wilson. It went exactly like you thought it would: his teams could put up some points (not like at IU) but his defense regularly gave up 40+ a game. The had too many games in which they gave up over 50 points.

Tom had the personality for it but not the smarts. Kevin the exact opposite.
It's an entirely different skillset that is required to be a good HC vs. a good coordinator. Some guys figure that out and either go back to doing what they do best, or learn from their failure and expand their tool kit. It appears that KW didn't learn much from his Indiana experience, especially in regard to finding a quality DC and giving him control of that side of the ball.

And now….UNC has fired Mack Brown.
44-32 at UNC in this second stint. Former alum. Former National Champion and kicked him to the curb. And, he’s taken them to 5 bowls in his last 6 years and sits at 6-5. He’s bowl eligible. Seems a bit extreme.

His UNC team lost this year to James Madison 70-50. That really hurt him according to what I heard today on College FB radio.

Now that (North Carolina) is a program that's a serious threat to go after one of our coordinators... 🙁

They can't pay them what Cignetti now can.

Those guys (particularly Haines), in a couple of years, will be able to do better than Tulsa.
