Will Wade would be great at IU and he is young. When did IU become a religious school where the head coach has to be pure as snow?
Not pure as the driven snow that would be a big no no for iu. Nobody deserves a second chance at morally elite IU.
Even Few has a DUI so he could never have been offered the job at IU even if he wanted it.
Since Sampson was fired. IU doesn’t care about winning, rather morally posturing and patting themselves on the back. The big boosters clearly have no problem lighting money on fire.
While the eggheads at IU think so highly of themselves for doing things the “right” way, every one in reality land points and laugh at their ineptitude. IU is a joke to the rest of the country.

He said 10 years ago we were too intense a job for him that actually preferred coaching high school.
Wade is one of the young guys built for the IU job and capable of bringing back some of the gravitas we once had.

It's funny seeing the members here that are part of the RMK Army who are now also of the belief that there's almost no skeleton in a coach's closet that makes them a bad choice for Indiana.
I don't understand why fans are so ate up about Wade's past. He paid players who cares. Now we know he is good at it and is allowed to. I am all in.

If Dolson determines he is the “right” guy to start a positive, new IU culture, then I’m in. But am guessing he’s not in Dolsons top 5 of choices.
Yeah, it amazes me how hindsight clouds the memory that Archie was one of, if not the, hottest names when we got him. Sure hindsight plays a role in the narrative, but at the time the hire was universally praised. Now it is morphed into the idea that every hiring cycle has been thwarted by a group of anonymous goody two shoes. In reality, we’ve had bad luck making the right picks, but it hasn’t been due to some systemic failure. The only real systemic failure was allowing Buckner to lean way too heavily on the woody hire.
Some of you crack me up. You realize that not only did several of these people break the rules, shocker it does happen, but most went down lying like the sacks of shite that they are. There's a certain "code" of conduct amongst these people that's real simple...lie and never give up the lie...when they catch you, keep lying and never give up the lie. A large number of politicians have it down pat.
I personally sat at a table with a very large donor during the Sampson debacle and listened to Sampscum tell the donor over and over that there was zero truth to the allegations and it was all "Bullshit" brought up by other coaches. So now imagine being a AD or Board Member and having said piece of scum lie to your face AND your biggest donors as well. THAT is why most schools, not just IU, don't want to give these particular coaches another (not just 2nd by the way) chance. I get the "win at all cost" mentality in a way, but when you're really dealing with morally corrupt people, that's normally a line you don't want to cross.

Kind of like the way McCullum is being talked up now like the next sure cannot miss guy. Just ignore the fact he only has one year of D1 experience at a lower level D1 school. He will totally come to IU and just kill it just like Archie was supposed to do.
Which I believe is why the Venn diagram of Wade/Beard fanatics is nearly a circle (I said nearly) of non-IU graduates.

I am an IU grad and I would 100% support Wade or Beard. Both would be home run hires. I have yet to come across an IU grad in person that is anti Beard/Wade. Both of those individuals have a much higher probability of bringing success to the program compared to a McCollum, Brownell, etc hire
I am an IU grad as well and wholeheartedly agree. If we were hiring the head coach of IU's Morality team I probably wouldn't hire them, but let's win some basketball games. Not make 4 tournaments in 15 years *cough cough Brownwell*
Between McCollum and someone like Brownell I'll take the chance on the more unproven guy. Brownell has proven what he is -- probably an above average but not a great coach. If we're OK with that, fine but don't talk about winning conference championships and making deep tourney runs when you introduce him, as he most often doesn't make the tournament at all.
McCollum is a risk but all indicators are positive. If we have to revisit in four years, well at least we swung for the fences.
I'm still hoping Dolson has a deal that's better than either of those guys.
The difference is that McCollum wasn’t even on most others mind as a possibility when we all knew Woodson was going bye bye. Archie was the first thought for most when he was up. But then again had a different AD that was pretty clueless also.
I’ve been saying McCollum since the beginning and hope I’m right. Many others have been doing their research also, and realize he might be pretty damn good at what he does. I don’t count the media opinions….just trying to get clicks.
IU gave Kelvin Sampson his second chance. Didn't work out too favorably.
Just look at what Houston is going through having hired a scumbag like Sampson. Oh, wait, they’re a perennial #1 seed. Never mind.
I'm an IU grad as well. There are at least a few in this forum who are vehemently anti Beard because of the way it reflects in IU. Me personally, if Dolson pulled the trigger on either one of those guys, I believe he will have vetted them thoroughly and concluded that there's not a great risk in hiring one of them. If that's the case, welcome aboard. My issue is with the folks who think that if Beard isn't hired, Dolson didn't give it his due diligence. IMO that's bull.
Yeah I'm sure Houston has big regrets on hiring Sampson as well. He has definitely made that University look bad!
Welp, they were able to jump on him AFTER the five year show cause thing.
I do not think it would really be swinging for the fences it means we could not or choose not to hire any power 5 coach with experience and had to go down to the mid major level to get somebody. Dolson has known since the bahamas he would need a new coach and if we do indeed hire a mid major he really did miss out on alot of guys imo.
More important than the morality issue is that Beard's offense sucks donkey ass.
