It would be good to pull him to IU and it shows our new coaches can attract very good players. I was hoping the new coaches could pull in better players and we will see with the 2023 class but especially the 2024 class how good the coaches will be with recruiting.
The staff wrapped up a very good class despite the poor season last year but at some point they are going to have to win to keep that going. IMHO that better take a big step this season.
IU was the only school where he mentioned two coaches and another player. Hope that's a good sign!
Up until last year, we were showing steady progress. The staff can point to reasons why the season didn't go the way we wanted it to for sure, but another season like past year and it'll be tough sledding.
I think they'll get a pass with this class. If we don't have a respectable season though, next year's recruiting could be tough.
The best thing about this upcoming season is coach Allen made changes from last season. Unlike so many, coach wasn't afraid to have people say he screwed up last season pointing to the changes this year. It takes a strong personality to be willing to make changes to improve the team and I hope IU tears it up this season heading into the upcoming seasons recruiting.
Can't stay static. Get on the train or get off the track.
One of the good things is that this is going to be a smaller class. The bad season would have a bigger impact if this needed to be a big class. If they can put together another good year hopefully they can get things right back on track.
A good season and either kids will dip or the transfer portal will be more robust, but I think IU will be fine if the wheels do t fall off like last year.
With the coaches we have now I don't it will look like last season. There is a lot more experience at different levels of coaching and I hope all buy into the Leo.
