Look at last year. We could've beaten Cincy except for 3 crippling penalties and a fumble on their 2 yard line. MSU came to town with Walker, a back who was tearing up the BIG and we held him to about 60 yards, but threw a pick 6 and lost by 5. If we had played our other games as well as those, IU would have had more than 2 wins. Those could be bad examples because we had 20 season ending injuries with a walk-on QB starting at Purdue. So look at this year. We beat an Illinois team that has turned out to be really good. Then we beat a Western Ky that beat FIU last week 73-0 and would be a handful for any BIG team. So we can move the ball against Illinois and Western Ky but can't score against a lousy Nebraska. It really hurt having our two best receivers out, but that's no excuse for losing this stinker. I recorded the game but haven't yet seen the 2nd half and don't know if I have the stomach for it. The talking heads say that the IU-Cincy game was defining for both teams, and I'm afraid that this game may be true at least for IU. (Nebraska will continue to stink.) There are possible (but not probable) wins against MSU and Rutgers, but I can't see us coming close to a bowl.
