Why is Brad Stevens trending on Twitter?

No. I was just down there for a week to see my sweet non asshole Granny. Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Punta Gorda Fort Myers, and Marco Island were all the stops. I wanted to sign off on my kids and quit my job by the time I had to had back up here. It was absolutely perfect the whole week.

Generally speaking you don't need good weather conditions to be ready to do those things.

ok reading some crazy stuff over on BBB about tall this. Probably 40-50 pgs on the board just today about this.

word is Trilly posted something cryptic on twitter...Dolsen has spoken to his #1 target and given 2 weeks (Feb 26) to decide before moving on. Current target is presently not a sitting coach in the NCAA.

Another comment: Virtual call with all the top AAU people in the state and alluded to Brad as his top target and giving him 2 weeks to decide.

Believe that if you want. And if you do...infer its meaning any way you want.

Still not buying any of this. I smell Billy Donavan and horse farm property & real estate agents.

I still say it's iron pyrite.

The great thing about a rumor like that is that's it's impossible to disprove. No matter what the dude can claim he was right.

Them giant spiders! Especially brown recluses. One bigger than my hand actually killed my brothers friend a long time ago down in Clearwater. Venom caused him to get a heart attack.

Anyways, back on topic…Still 0% chance Brad will ever take the job!
That ain't no brown recluse. More like a tarantula.

There are no reported deaths from the bite of a brown recluse.
It was like 20 something years ago. It did happen though. I’ve seent them! I worked down in Fla back in *05 for the summer and saw them all the time where I worked(cleaned up crime scenes). Fla is like the Australia of America!

Did you learn that in Negotiating 101?

Oh I know. I stay in Miami about 2 months per year. I lived there for 5 years.

They can be deadly to some people. But they're no way as big as your hand.

I went to that area every Spring for two decades. Never remember seeing a spider of any size.

After golden boy’s press conference the last time around I say piss on Brad Stevens. It didn’t sit well with me at the time and I still haven’t forgotten. Realistically, if golden boy thought he was too good for us back then do you really think he’s going to be interested in this mess now?

Since we all love rumors... Supposedly, prior to Woody being hired, Stevens and his family met and voted on whether Brad should take the IU job. At that time, the vote was 3-1 to stay in Boston, with Brad being the only one who wanted to take the IU job.

With his son at Notre Dame, perhaps the vote would now be 2-2; as sad as it sounds, I think the fact that his daughter is still in high school may be one of the biggest obstacles. In an interview from last spring, Brad mentioned that he misses teaching the game.

Some say they were talking numbers and Steve Fergison did something that she didn’t like. I don’t know what that was.

The rumor is that Ferguson asked her to leave the room so the men could talk (she also serves as Brad's agent).

Stevens would have to be out of Boston and his NBA contract before any semblance of a chance to coach again, anywhere, were a possibility. Its the Boston Celtics. Stevens has arrived at "the" destination. That would need to change before any coaching questions on any level exist for Stevens, imo.

Boston is a great place to live. Why would his wife want to move to Bloomington? So she could go to yogi’s and kilroys?

If you lay out your offer and it takes a candidate 2 weeks to decide, that ain't the right person.

Someone must have started spreading that rumor again. I refuse to get my hopes up this time.

why does almost anything trend on twitter?

answer: for no real reason other than people want to talk about it, regardless of its absurdity.

gulf of america is trending too.

You know impetus for this rumor was the statement from insiders that Dolson has his man and it is someone not currently coaching college basketball. If that part is actually true, I think we should be very concerned…

He’s basically used his coaching prowess to maneuver his wsy into being something similar to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. It’s laughable to think he’s dreaming of redurrevting a college program. He’s reached the pinnacle already.
I think, and just my opinion, that you're underestimating ego here. The pros are about the players, but in college, it's about the coaches. The Celtics are about Jason Tatum, Jaylen Brown, etc.. Though obviously very able, they're not about the front office. If he were to turn around IU's basketball program, he'd right away be among the tops in the sport and a big part of our BB history.

In the NBA the players have all the power.
Not anymore.

The Luka trade demonstrated that the players are no longer at the table for the deal. The ratings are down, the trade war with China is impacting viewership, and the league needs it's biggest markets to have stars.

The league killed its viewership with it's key demographic, men between 18-42.

Now the owners are taking action to protect their assets.

The next tweet will be new prospective Celtics owners have just agreed to make Brad Stevens minority owner.
I actually know a minority owner of the Celtics as he sat on the board of my company.

I asked him about Stevens - IU and he said "we have plan A, B, C and Z for dealing with that continued question."

They, the ownership group, thought getting Stevens was an absolute coup.
