Why is Brad Stevens trending on Twitter?

No. I was just down there for a week to see my sweet non asshole Granny. Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Punta Gorda Fort Myers, and Marco Island were all the stops. I wanted to sign off on my kids and quit my job by the time I had to had back up here. It was absolutely perfect the whole week.
The gulf side has always been better, unfortunately the northeasterners have discovered it so much of the friendlyness and charm is disappearing.

Seems it depends if he wants to coach or to be Front Office guy. I guess it also depends on if the Celtics want to keep him if he prefers front office position. I think it odd there has been no extension on his contract as of yet. Celts had to pay him whether they let him go after his coaching stint but they chose to make him work in Front Office and earn it. He did well in that role also but my guess is will receive coaching offers that dwarf what he might make as GM.

He is clearly the top candidate by miles from rest of field, IMO. Get UR done.

To put it in perspective on Stevens. Him and May are the same age. Resumes couldn’t be further apart and I think highly of Dusty. Stevens is definitely in a category all his own and at 48. Insane.

Could he be getting his market value to throw on the table in negotiations for his Celtic Front Office extension.

Ask Jimmy Butler!
Meh. Butler wanted and forced his way out of Miami.

Better to ask Luka. He recently bought a multi million dollar home in Dallas a couple weeks ago and seemed ready to commit to the Mavs for the long haul.

With regards to his contract... Just a guess... Its probably just a formality with Stevens being the President of BO. He's probably just juggling everyone else's contracts, and will ink his own at or near the deadline when he has all the other peoples contract info at his disposal. Just a guess on how its working for him right now up there. Within reason, he probably has complete autonomy on all this.

Trilly is doubling down on Stevens. Burners are active too.

Trilly doesn't have a great track record of being right on decisions that aren't pretty obvious. He makes a lot of them, and seems like he's "in the know", but he misses on enough of them, that I really don't pay attention to him any more. I think really anyone with a cell phone, some creativity, and an X account could do what he does.

Hope he's right on this one though, obviously!!

It's gotta be getting close to the time where Stevens announces that he's flattered and that he has find memories of growing up in Indiana and watching Bob Knight and his teams.
I'm stubborn. I'll hold out hope until there's no hope left.

Stevens has succeeded with every basketball thing he's touched, but he's not a living legend in the state of Indiana ... but he could be.

It’s not just him. His discord has pretty interesting stuff too. It’s all entertainment anyway with some truth. I do believe some….I choose to believe Dolson is better equipped this time and has been working on this since last year.

All of our fav places and we want to relocate there but real estate down there has gone off the rails and insurance as well. And traffic due to the growth is getting very bad.
My grandmother just passed a few months back. Her home is for sale in Punta Gorda! Asking somewhere in the $400-$450k range! Nice lake in backyard. The only problem in that area is too many old people and everything closes around 5pm!

Sounds like a nice community for the new balance crowd we have around here. Sorry about grandma by the way.

Fully agree with your last sentence. Probably the rest, too. Just don't get too jacked on anything Trilly "predicts".

If I'm betting my own money...I probably put the highest odds on Dusty May, at this point. With a guy like Mark Byington in there as well.

I'd probably hire McCollum, if I were doing it, and Stevens wasn't an option. But I can understand everyone's concerns with him.

If we don't hear about a contract extension/raise from UM by tournament time...

McCollum, after a couple of seasons in Bloomington would win like Bo Ryan did at Wisconsin. I really believe that. Someone is going to get a winner in Ben.

Perhaps, but not sure IU fans want a Bo Ryan 2.0. A guy who has a lot of B1G success, but not successful on the national stage.

They would like it for awhile but those type teams never get the NBA talent and every single NC has one or two guys.

All the other peoples contract? What other people? Players? Horford is a FA this year and KP is a FA next summer. They have a draft pick probably in the bottom 5 of the first round.

I am only going his extension as a coach thru 2025. It may actually include the 25-26 season. Not sure how much per year it was extended for. It always possible they have already made a deal for him to remain President and just don't make it public. It is not included below.

He's the President of Basketball Operations...he decides more than just players contracts. But yes, their contracts, coaches contracts, trainers, scouts, anyone else that's in his down line. My guess is his own contract is largely a formality, probably already agreed upon in principle, Stevens may just be waiting to ink it (if it hasn't been already), until the last minute so he has all the other people in the organization's contracts settled first.

It would be a huge story in sports. Can you imagine the buzz and the recruits immediately interested? I refuse to get burned again but I’m starting to think it’s a viable possibility l

Logically...I can't make it check out in my brain. The dude is making over 10million per year, without coaching travel and stresses. I've listed the reasons why I could see him considering it...but can't envision him leaving what he's doing now.

I just don't see it happening unless Stevens wants a new challenge he has life made right now..
That’s true. But for a real basketball guy, it’s not totally surprising he might miss coaching. As a teacher, I had an administrative position for a little bit. It was super easy and paid more. But I missed teaching and went back.
