Per HSN site, IU is looking at 6'1" Carter Porter, a JC PG at Vincennes, out of Terre Haute...V won theJC NC last year. Avg. 14.3 pts/7.8 rebs, 5.8 assists, 1.7 TOs/game. Leads team with 47 blocks, 37 steals. .500 FG%, with 33% on 3s, .694 on FTs. Is a Soph there.

We're also looking at Whitt, who may or may no reclassify for 2020, and who just visited. Several posters on there don't care much for him, saying he's a hot dog & takes bad shots, fwiw. In looking at him, it's not like he's ultra-talented, imo. I did notice in one brief tape on that site that he was playing with 2 different colored shoes--one bright orange, 1 florescent yellow. Have a feeling he's a guy who'll write checks he can't cash, talent wise. Not thrilled with him based on the little I know & have seen.

Saw no opinions on that.....all they were talking about is whether we should want him

I believe I read that this is his first OV as a JR....if I'm right that would mean something.....

I tell you what...the shoe thing is disconcerting. A couple of posters described him as ultra-aggressive, forcing shots, making ill-advised passes....remind you of anyone?

The odd thing is that the film on him is 'scouting film' v. highlights.....so you're seeing the warts as well as the good plays.

Last year Parker avg 8.4/6.2/4.3, with a 2:1 A/TO ratio, as a freshman on a team that won the JC NC...as a freshman he shot 40% on 3s. This year.....14.3/7.8/5.8 with a 3.4:1 A/TO ratio shooting .50/.33/.69 and leading the team (by a lot) in BSs & steals. And he's playing on a team where a fellow freshman was the tournament MVP last year and is a top 10 rated JC recruit this year (Kevin Osawe). I saw on one list that Parker was rated the #16 (as I recall) jc prospect on the same list that ranked Osawa #6.

Know nothing else about him other than liking his very short you tube highlight film on HSN thread....

IU did go watch him very recently.

IU did go watch him very recently.

I would take him over even Lander based on his VU college highlights, he looks like Steve Francis 2.0, and would probably be here more than a year just to build name recognition. He does look like pro potential
