This site had nothing going but the cooler. Nobody was we breaking news, no real write ups. The AOTF was dead. We may as well punch out on the clock.

Yeah Coyle said last fall if it was up to him, the free boards would be shut down. Kind of pissed me off. He couldn't even moderate the paid side. That's when I decided I wasn't going to renew my subscription. The only content being posted was his YouTube show anyway.

Back in the day, online advertising was worth many multiples of what it is now. I'm sure it's a tough space to try to make money in at the moment.

I'm just saying, a surprise change that will drive many of us away who view many thousands of ads per day doesn't seem like the right response. But what do I know? I'm an expert in probate, and alternatively, in midwestern health department inspection regimes. I know nothing about making a profit on internet forums.
My understanding is that all the ad revenue on the forums goes to Yahoo. That's why he was selling static ads on the stories and articles.
