Of having walk-ons, specifically guards, who are not good enough to play in games?? To up the team GPA? Have any of our walk-on guards played any minutes?

Can't IU find any decent walk-on guards who can play some minutes to help us out when we are depleted? wtf??

A friend of my son was a walk on at iu about 7 yrs ago, Nate Richie from Northridge High School. He was 6'7, won the slam dunk contest at HH and could shoot the 3....family huge IU supporter and stopped after one yr. Wanted to enjoy college life and play at ther HPER where he could dominate and he did. Graduated from Kelly with an accounting degree....

They are playing at low majors or DII.

Basketball players like to play basketball.

The current walk-ons would run any HYPR team you could find unless maybe some football/baseball players were around. Maybe.

Randle El used to abuse court 1 for example. I took a couple L’s and saw it with my own eyes.

can't remember the name, but when Mike Davis was coach he had a walk on from Bloomington who not only played, but was one of the big difference makers in some B10 victories, that they likely wouldn't have won without him.

I played against an intramural basketball team consisting of IU football players my sophomore year at IU. At halftime, I had around 20 points and we were ahead by two points against a very physical team.

Right before the start of the second half, one of my teammates said I was shooting too much even though I had hit more than half of my attempts and had gotten our opponents in foul trouble by driving the middle. It offended me, so I decided not to attempt a shot in the second half. As a result, we lost by 20 or more points.

I really felt sorry for my roommate. One of the football players knocked him down and broke his forearm. At least, I didn't get injured--even though my feelings were hurt by that other guy's comment. lol

Many years ago and probably still happens but I remember when the HPER had a team of football players like Van Waiters, Ernie Jones, Nolan Harrison and others. Scary "fun" to play that team...

Grammar police notification:

It’s always “So-and-so and I

Never…..
“Me and Billy Bob”.
“Me and Joe.”

See this so often these days.

Me and Errek are the same age and size. He will tell you I was always the more skilled athlete. I dominated back in the boys and girls club days.
You too? Lots of good athletes came through the boys club. We had a kid from Bloomfield named Shane Miller. We didn’t lose a game with him. By the way…Jenny was the superior athlete in the Suhr family. RIP

The Icemen. That intramural team name was still in use by football players in '90.
