What will be our 2 deep on the OL.

Well evidently TA agreed with you... 😉 He's moved Bedford back to T ((while he's still penciled in as a backup at G))...

So we know who our Tackles are: Bedford and Haggard... Now all we need to do is find two G's and a Center...
Smart man, Allen. Glad he listened to me. lol

I wonder if Allen had to step in to deliver that message because his buddy, Hiller, was telling them “everything is good, guys. Just keep doing what you are doing!”
In any other business when a boss has to do the employee's job for them, that indicates the employee isn't doing the job. Most employers, at that point, can the employee. So I wonder, as i have all of the off season, why Hiller still has a job. Seems pretty basic unless there are other mitigating factors only Dolson/Allen/Hiller know that somehow prevent Hiller from getting his walking papers.

Baffling.

I will point out that some posters wanted coach Frey back as OL coach despite coach Wilson stepping in often to straighten things out on the OL. I wonder how long coch Hiller will be at IU after this season.

My take is that Allen wasn't sure he'd be bringing in an upgrade from the pool of candidates available to him..., along wth the fact that many OL coaches probably take a much tougher approach than is allowed on this staff...

I'm guessing he's not going to make a change just for changes sake to placate the fans unless he's absolutely certain he'll be getting an upgrade who also fits the culture...

Add in the fact that Hiller is a good friend whose family would be affected by the move and I think we have our reasons as to why he's still here...

Hiller has to know he's coaching for his future retention (because the new OC's contacts just might have doubled the pool of potential replacements)...

Allen is probably hoping Hiller finds his past magic (he coached well at Cincinnati), learns a few new tricks, and wins his job back through the OL's onfield performance this Fall. If he doesn't he'll clearly have no one to blame but himself...

That is a good take. Let us hope you are correct.

I'm very much hoping that Rod Carey is basically the OL coach.

If it were me, I'd roll with...

Tackles: Haggard and Bedford
Guards: Weaver and Moore
Center: Carpenter

I'm going with the true freshman because I feel like he has that nasty streak that we need and has the size and speed that can open some holes. I think he can move the way that CWB would want a offensive lineman to move so we can run the ball as well.

I'm probably wrong though so it won't matter, but it's fun to speculate.

Lets just Say at any other Big Ten program HILLER would be gone. And it might have happened mid season last year.
The complete lack of preparedness for last year- There is no excuse. The Iowa game looked like rag dolls and confusion.
I think its because the wives are so close Tom couldn't pull the trigger.

Fast forward to this coming year. I think Tom knows he cannot have a repeat at offensive line like last year. I really want to believe this offseason will be different. When you step back and look at last year we had way to many inexperienced coordinators. When things didn't work Tom had no one to turn to with experience. Those were decisions made by Tom that he is trying to correct by the hiring of the new OC and taking the D reins back over this year.

Hiller is still the White elephant in the room. This guy alone could define Tom Allen tenue at Indiana.
Illinois game right out of the gate will be a show me game as to what was accomplished this offseason.
