Central Florida has No. 1 Duke on the ropes, and can't finish. Duke escapes.

Purdue is a free throw away (and a lucky bounce) from beating No. 1 Virginia. Virginia survives. Carson Edwards was fantastic, Haarms and Cline pretty much no-shows. Too bad.

MState now our only hope for a B1G team in the final four.

Another flame out year for the Big Ten. The SEC has definitely passed the Big Ten in basketball too.

Regarding Purdue, your post sums up exactly what I said to my wife after the game last night. Kudos to Purdue for a great season and Edwards was amazing. However, how a guy can score 40 and the team manage to lose the game is mind boggling. When the rest of the team provides very little help is the answer I suppose.

You're a guy who would piss, moan and complain about being hung with a new rope. A flat out miserable human being in every way, shape and form.
Why? Because I’m realistic? You still think the Big Ten is better than the SEC?

And if Michigan State beats Duke and goes to the F4, will you terminate your account here and not post ever again?

Because the B1G would have an equal number of F4 participants as the SEC.

Just trying to be realistic.

And remove the stench from this board.

The Big Ten hasn’t won a title since 2001.

SEC has done a great job hiring good coaches. Big Ten hasn’t for the most part. It’s just reality.

I didn't really think my post was very subtle or nuanced, but maybe you're even more dense than I thought. I'll try again.

All you do is complain and bring negativity, Eeyore. You're a sad little person who regularly posts things that simply aren't true. Your track record of posting information that turns out to be correct or original is very poor. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be with you.

You're not realistic though. You just move from realism in the direction of pessimism instead of optimism. Pessimism is easier to sell as being realistic but it's not more realistic than optimism.

Let's not forget that in your "realistic" mind the way to become elite is to lose lots of games.

What's real is that there are both positives and negatives about the B1G, IU, Miller, etc but you concentrate on and only post about the negatives while also inflating them.

Well, Bruce Pearl (and Chuck Person) certainly fit Cal's mold regarding recruiting and rules compliance, so they'll add to the great job the SEC has done in hiring coaches that have vacated F4's when the hammer drops on Bruce (again) and Chuck after Chuck's corruption/bribery trial.

The Big 10 has put a team in the NCAA championship game 8 times since 2000, the SEC 5 times. The SEC has lost more good coaches than it has hired, and hired and/or recycled cheaters amongst one another during that same time frame. The best coach the SEC has during that time has been coaching in the NBA for 4 years. The best of the current crop is Calipari (slimy/dirty), Pearl (dirty), Barnes (dirty) and Wade (filthy). I would take the Big Ten and their last 20 years of results over the SEC and theirs, the Big Ten's current crop of coaches over theirs, and the Big Ten's future prospects over theirs....every single time. The Big 10 by and large has done things the right way and seems positioned to continue that trend. The same cannot be said of the SEC.

He doesn't care. It doesn't fit his doom and gloom narrative. Easier for him just to spout shit that isn't true or makes no sense. When called on it, he rarely acknowledges the error (lie).

Best Tournament in a long time that I can remember without IU in it. So many close games played at a high level, with a few crappy high school caliber games...yes, I'm looking at you Michigan.

Actually if you think about it. The B1G did pretty well. If Cline hits the FT PU is playing. MSU has a shot. Iowa played Tenn tough. PU beat Tenn.
Purdue was a good showing. Michigan got torched by TT. The SEC has really improved imo though.

We should have hired Bruce our last two coaching searches.

I’m talking right now, not the last 20 years.

And the SEC has 3 championships from two different teams since MSU last won one.

But you went back nearly 20 years in your doddering "haven't won a title since..." shit post.

So "today" is 7, 12, and 13 years ago? You sure love to try to choose which stats count and which don't.

Going by this year only, B1G and SEC each have 1 team in the FF which doesn't show that the SEC is the better conference. Last year B1G had 1 to 0 for the SEC.

The only logical way to judge conferences is based upon tourney performance, not championships. What if Gonzaga were to win it twice? Would that make the WCC stronger than the B10? Villanova did win it twice. I don’t think anyone is dumb enough to argue that the Big East is better than the B10.

Any time period you want.
