West Virginia season stats

West Virginia had the 7th best defense in the country, 9th best perimeter defense in the country, and #44 in 3-point rate (suggesting that he runs a more modern offense than we've seen in years). His best player only played 8 games before a shoulder injury. He took a team that was a dumpster fire last year (9-23), and turned it around to 19-13. He beat some really good teams: Gonzaga, Arizona, Iowa State, and to a lesser extent, Kansas.

I guess he certainly beat teams that Woody could never beat. And it was just his first year, so you gotta give him a lot of credit for it. I also saw that IU has offered him a $7M+ NIL package. This presumably is why he decided to quickly leave WVU just a day after IU first contacted him. WVU is a good job, but IU is much better funded for today’s climate.

Terrible team stats last season. I’m not sure what Dolson saw. Maybe they got turned down by 35 coaches and got a good deal on a cheap coaching salary
Maybe look at drake to get a better picture. He had one year to get his roster and then lost his best player.

I just watched the Drake - Miami NCAA tournament game highlights, Drake led most of the way and lost. Watched several other highlights of games of Drake from a year or three ago, plus a bit of his WVU team.

It looks like good basketball. Hell yeah.

They say he can recruit too. Seems to have an eye.
