Our series at The Bart with MSU this weekend looks to be a scheduling mess with rain/thunderstorms expected the entire weekend. Here's hoping they can see some windows in all of that where they can get games in. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to get a better idea of when they might get games in.

The weather is totally unpredictable for the weekend. I was looking at the hour-by-hour forecast for Friday and they currently have two windows that day that are for a two-hour period where they have it just cloudy with no rain/thunderstorms, and that is between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m ET. Later on, they currently have another window between 7 and 9 p.m. ET where they have it just cloudy with rain sandwiched around it.

On Saturday, they have a window open between 1 and 3 p.m. where it's expected to be just cloudy with it being sandwiched between rain/thunderstorms. It's expected to become cloudy around the 7 to 11 p.m. ET before more rain moves in.

Sunday is expected to be cloudy that afternoon with the temps dropping into the 40s with the rain pretty much moving out.

That's what it looks like right now based on what I saw, and the IU site has yet to post how they are going to schedule this weekend's games.

All three weekend games are now listed at the site as TBD as far as start times. They have yet to post a pregame article on the series so I'm checking out on the evening and will see what I wake up to next morning.

However, the Michigan State site says there will be no game tomorrow with the series being a Sat-Mon series with more info to come. Here's the link to the very short MSU statement at their site.

IU hasn't posted a pre-series article yet on the MSU series and I assume they are in the process of determined the start times for the games on Sat thru Mon. We are going to see probably the best starting pitcher in the B1G right now in one of those games and here is a short snapshot of him and look for quite a few strikeouts from our power hitters in his start.

– Joseph Dzierwa, LHP, Michigan State

After being named second team All-Big Ten last season with a 4.07 ERA, the Spartan ace has taken things to a new level. This year, six of his seven starts have been quality starts and now he is fourth in the country with a 1.27 ERA and 18th in strikeouts with 54 punch outs. The 6-foot-8 southpaw is now looking like he could be one of the first few lefties taken in this summer’s draft.

The MSU site has some tentative game times for the weekend. Game 1 is to start at 2:02 p.m. ET tomorrow if the weather permits. Game 2 on Sunday has the same tentative start time of 2:02 p.m. ET. The Monday game has a start time of 1:02 p.m. ET. Again, we need to keep an eye on the weather since they could change these times on short notice. Here is the link to the MSU article as they are ahead of the IU site in posting anything on the series.

It looks like the IU site is going to wait until game day tomorrow to post anything about the series since they haven't posted anything yet and it's getting late now.
