We were 12-2, before the rebuild

Actually before better coaches exposed Archie.
I still contend the biggest issue for this team isn't coaching (although it could be better), but togetherness.

Something happened to this group over Christmas break - from the time Phinisee got his concussion to the Illinois game. We haven't been the same since Butler. Part of it is injuries/suspension, but something is going on internally.

We’re always in a rebuild. It’s an endless cycle.

I would say you just might be dead on.

I’d absolutely love to see a fight erupt with this bunch. Can’t imagine any one of them actually connecting on a punch. Hell, they probably wouldn’t even have the fire to throw one.

sure, it's that simple. and archie waited until exactly 10 games ago to become the world's worst coach.

you guys aren't even trying. it takes a little more time to determine the shittiness of a coach. lol. i swear to god some of you jokers just want to be there first.

We have now lost 9 of 10 with the same lineup. No adjustments to no one guarding certain players. Just keep playing the same players. OSU didn't guard Smith until he was 3 feet from the basket. Miller kept playing him. How many bricks and air balls? He could have dribbled to 5 feet away and shot every time. Where was Forrester, Moore, and Race? They got scholarships. That was the worst display of coaching I have seen from and IU coach. Crean's teams would play hard defense but yesterday was a new low.

This goes back to what was said by someone on here earlier, and I paraphrase:
2 guards on the team were involved in an altercation, the coach took sides in the matter and that upset the team. The result was a locker room split in 2.

I would speculate that one guard received some sort of punishment (possible a suspension) while the other guard is allowed to do whatever it is that he wants.

Here is the post I was referring to

My post was deleted on premium board so I won’t use names here. Some people say two guards had strong argument and maybe more than argument. Players chose sides. Archie chose a side and one player lost. Who knows if anything happen but I agree with you that Archie has lost team and team chemistry shot.

It doesn't look like the kids on the team like each other at all. Not even an "us against them" attitude against the coaches some teams fall into when things aren't going well. Apathy is the word that comes to mind.

worst EVAR? lololol, man, you guys sure do love the drama of it all.

who would have replaced Smith that would have caused OSU to have to guard that position further out? who is ready to do it right now? that's why Smith plays.

we've seen snippets of Forrester and Moore -- clearly not ready. ya, Race has been practicing for two weeks, so let's throw him out there just to keep you from wetting your diaper.

Crean's team's played hard on defense? whaaaa? hahahaha. Defense was not the the problem yesterday. the problem was, and will continue to be, shooting. but i get it makes you feel more manly to pound your chest and yell about effort.

Smith's replacement was on the floor with him. Our best lineup yesterday was Davis, Morgan (sliding over to replace Smith at the 4), Langford, and then 2 of Durham, Phinisee, and Green. Whenever that line up went in, we went on a run. Davis hurt things a bit with foul trouble but the fact that he never got back into the game after his 4th foul was inexplicable. Ohio State did not have to guard Smith outside of 8 feet. They had to be more cognizant of where Morgan was at (despite an off night) when Davis was in though.

He won’t turn it around. IU athletics will stink until the administration at the top is changed.

What you say is probably true but Fred put us in another situation where we are stuck with the current coach for at least two more years minimum. I have been asked by several non IU fans whey IU did not hire Chris Mack. All I can say is I sure wish I knew why as well.

This great coach said we "Have to look for ways to integrate Race into the first half" No keep playing the same lineup the rest of the year. Purdue can kick our butt for 5 in a row. Keep the same lineup. Maybe we can lose out. He's doing such a great job.

lol. Archie does not seem to be a HOF coach now. But I don't think anything will happen to him this season. For now, I do think one thing he should do: he should get better assistants. His preparations and scouting are poor to say the least. This is not just him. He needs better assistants to compete in BIG imo.
