We played damn good D today

Was I the only one who thought it was nice to see Reneau show some confidence today? That kid was pegged as a key part of our success early on, then hit a wall and seemed to have lost confidence. JG was really good, but IU is gonna need another big body to contribute until Race comes back.

Yup, seasons are long. Malik is a stud, he just needs better court awareness and needs to catch up to how much faster everything is. He showed some strides for sure yesterday. He should keep getting better and better. Again, him and Fino are winners.

You wanna correct the post directly above yours too? College grads that obliterate their primary language annoy me.
Do you think the majority of the posters here graduated from IU? I could be wrong, but my guess based on years of experience here is that less than 50 percent graduated from IU.

Clearly. But some swear they did - without showing any semblance of an education. 🤷‍♂️

So many 'ifs' at this point, but was good to see Malik contribute and need 13 rather than 5 minutes to garner 3 fouls. 🍏

Be extremely helpful for Jordan and Malik to show some positive consistency going forward. Jalen was very much under control yesterday, no idea what's going to happen if and when Xavier makes it back but suspect IU's defense won't suffer because of it in any case. No idea why Miller isn't shooting 5-8 threes every game but have come to appreciate his defense whether he scores or not.

Don't know if Trayce has worked all the way through his back issue but he looked and played really well yesterday - loose and explosive as opposed to stiff and restrained. After that first early foul he had on Crowl, TJD and Jordan basically owned Wisconsin's frontline - Crowl and Gilmore logged 9 pts. on 4/13 shooting to go with 8 rebs., 5 TOs and 0 blocks vs. 30 pts. from TJD & Jordan on 14/23 shooting, 23 rebs., 2 TOs and 6 blocks. Add in the 6/3 from Malik and IU's bigs outscored Wisconsin's 36-9.

Tamar was sort of a no-show yesterday but as he seems to still be somewhat erratic and progress in surges rather than smooth-like, suspect he'll do better going forward, more so as his issues seem to be more mental than physical. Galloway remains solid, engaged and tenacious, not sure his influence on the Team and its intensity-level is really appreciated, IU just generally seems sharper when he's in the game. Same goes for Kopp - neither has elite-level athleticism, but they play smart and focused and it seems somewhat contagious.

Was overseas and missed the last several games, no idea what happened against PSU to light up IU from deep like they did.

Problem with Bates is if he is not scoring he usually does little else. Below average defender and poor handles for a guy his size. He sounds like a hard worker and solid young man, but not sure he ever becomes a consistent contributor.
I will gives Bates a little credit on the defensive side. He made some nice plays on that side of the ball and seemed less prone to overhelp and get burned and did a better job staying in front of his defender. Maybe it was the matchup, or maybe he was just smarter. Regardless, he played much better on that side of ball, so it’s not like he didn’t contribute.

I hate autocorrect.
My only mistake is repeating the behavior of hitting send too fast. I do most of my business communication via my phone and can type extremely fast and correctly. Yet the damn phone changes words that I have typed correctly to another spelling and while it annoys the piss out of me, I still routinely hit send and do not spellcheck myself. Grr!

You need to drop this shtick
Until the forever daunted become never daunted…otherwise the glory of old IU shall surely drop and falter…but it’s a battle, so we must remember we’re becoming tried and true…so let complaining be halted and no longer be daunted and then we won’t falter for the glory of old IU

Think on these things.

People that bitch and whine and don't talk basketball annoy me.
The most common and misused word in a basketball post is "I" .... at that point it's not about basketball it's about someone's emotions and feelings. The chronic bitches are the worst, they seem to think everyone finds their feelings interesting..

starting with TJD. They had some open open threes that didn't go down, but for the most part we did not leave guys wide open.

JG has woken up. He has all the ability in the world, now he is using it to his advantage. Love him on the boards today 11 rebounds, 5 offensive. Just a must have for him to step up.

We win at IL and everything flips again, the season is long from over. Getting JG, Gallo, and a few others big game minutes now, and staying relevant will pay huge dividends when X and race come back.
We will not win at Illinois. You live in fantasy land. Have you watched this team? We suck! Woodson needs to go and the sooner the better.

And don't come at me with some stupid nonsensical bet offer. I don't know you and am not betting a stranger. If I knew you, I would gladly back up my statement with $1,000, but I don't so I told ya so will have to do.

I will not bet you we beat IL. We will be 4-5 point dogs. Nice try though.

Anyways, this team will make the tourney. Was a a bit worried of that before yesterday. TJD plain and simple is too good, and as mentioned, was as explosive as we have seen in some time yesterday.

Galloway is coming on… Here is a shameless plug of some hard work by a 19 year old kid that wants to be a videographer.

Please write all future predictions in a 4 stanza quatrain, with lines 2 and 4 rhyming. It would be much much more entertaining if you added predictions of earthquakes, floods and an Anti Christ ..

Most of us enjoy his criticisms of the chronically dumb posters.
All he does is criticize…. If you have nothing else better to do search my messages. I lean positive when deserved and negative when deserved. The fact that this season so far has been an unmitigated disaster is fact…. Doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. But TMP is just lazy when he labels anyone dumb who criticizes

There were couple of forced shots. He wasn’t the only one forcing shots in first half.

Similar to the end of last year, this team is going to go off the pick and roll for Schifino and Trayce in the post. Everyone else will compete for the scraps. Especially until Race and X return. IU doesn’t have a consistent 3rd scoring option currently. The guys who play D, rebound, and don’t screw up will be on the floor at the end. Galloway for example.

Bates still has a lot work to do. 22 minutes 1 rebound, 0 points, 0 assists. Poor D. Galloway 19 minutes 5, 2, 8. If you watched the game you know who Woody had to have on the floor. Galloway and Schifino were playing well together.

Schifino’s mid-range game is a thing of beauty when he’s rolling. That’s what an NBA guard prospect looks like.
For all the older fans here who remember. JHS reminds one of the great NY Knick Walt "Clyde" Frazier with the great mid-range game on offense, clever ball-handling and drives, and the super quick hands and feet on defense. They both have that undefinable 'feel' for the game that special players have. Clyde was 6:5 too.
